Steering Prob w/ Gen 1

Hey guys, Im having problems with my gen 1 steering and no this is not a jittering problem. i searched around the forums for about an hour and didnt find anything..
so i decided to drive my gen 1 again(since i havnt driven it in a while) and when im turning right its fine, when i turn left the car barley turns.. i checked the servo for loose wires or some dust but there was nothing. and the batteries are brand new (for the car and the controller). crystals match up.. nothing is broken or loose the steering rod is new (zero degrees). i can prob get a vid up of you want.
any ideas on what's wrong?

Try recentering your servo. Take off the front end, remove the steering horn. Turn on both controller and car, let the servo center itself. Carefully put the servo horn back on and check if steering is even both sides.

well it could be
broken gear
needs to be centerd
try to trun the thing on the back of the remote
to make it have a better truning radius

Never had that problem with mine. I know sometimes the gen2 and gen3 will do that after you put AWD in them. But with my gen one the steering is still the same after that. Do you have AWD? If so you could have put it in wrong. That or you servo is dieing.

dunno what's wrong with it, some gen 1's used to do this naturally, I would give the following a shot:
1) When turning the car on make sure both front wheels face perfectly straight, if not, use the "L" and "R" buttons to center the alignment.
2) If they're perfectly straight but the turning sucks, perhaps the steering range is turned down, check the scrolling adjuster on the back of the controll to see if its all the way up or not.]
3) If both 1 and 2 check to be centered and range at max, then centering the POT might help solve this, there are tutorials for that around here somewhere.

have you tried re-centering your servo?

I have tried all of those.. like i said when it steer right its fine, its just when i turn left.. and its annoying when i have to back up just to make a turn. the car goes straight, no need to use the r and l buttons(well its straight enough for me)

sorry for the double post, but i had thought of an idea, i thought that maybe i can make this my drift car, but after installing the AWD kit it wouldnt turn right, when it turns left its fine but when turning right, the car doesnt turn it's as if im not steering, but i am, i can post a vid if you want
for those of you that might want to know the upgrades, they are
AWD kit
spring upgrade(blue, and i know they are the wrong ones for drifting)
S2 white motor w/ metal heat sink
CF decks
metal bearings all around(it could use a cleaning)
radioshack metal hex nuts
drift kit

Do you hear anything noise when you try to turn ? It should sound like a gear grinding sound the your front blevel is hitting the tie-rod. And clean your bearings first, those might be the cause and if not, replace the right knuckles bearings with the stock brushings.

ok thanks, i dont hear a grinding noise, and ill clean them thursday, not time today, tommorrow=my friend's bday party .. so ill get back thursday, but ill be checking in once in a while tomorrow, any more idea's or comments are welcome
