I just got done working a bit on the bodykit, its all I can do at the moment so right now all the cuts and stuff have been done to the side skirts and rear bumper, the front will take more work, and of course the body once i get my hands on it. I'll take pics when I wake up how its like 4am and my hands hurt from the filing, drilling, and cutting. I'll probably also use a bit of Epoxy later too. Kaze ~-)-------- |
got any links to your previous projects?

yeah i hope this turns out nicely
@Driftordie: the stock spoiler on the 350z is exactly like the one in the 2nd picture so he doesnt need to buy a new one |
Kaze, What model is that Dell Laptop? I would watch that power cord I have/had the same kind and the wire right at the plug broke inside and I had to purchase a $80 new one. But nice project by the way.
|
Nice. I've always wanted to see one of Veilside's cars done. That is what I was going to base my S2000 off of...

Thank you guys for you support, I applied a little bit epoxy today so the sanding process begins and it'll be a little while before the next update. As for the wheels I'm still not sure seeing how I dont own RSX wheels either, but i'll still look into it. |
Haha What ones do you buy? The Dell ones? I got a Targus one.
BTW I have a Latitude CPx |
i see you uses energizers...nice. LOL
nice job on the body kit its clean! |

So after applying a little amount of putty, I came to a realization that its a little harder than i thought, but I can work with it. However I do have a question for you mroe experienced modders. What is a good method of approach into making the rear lower decks (under the exhaust) on the body kit?
I've had a couple of ideas about it, like using the plastic from the xmods packaging to create a center frame of the lower deck, and applying the putty to it. but what are some other ideas? |
what you said, and a lot of ppl like to use styrene strips, which you can buy at your local hobby shop.
I use the xmods plastic, but it would be easier to use epoxy and styrene strips on those decks below the exhaust. |
Use styrene, and find the right kind of glue. With the right glue, the styrene will 'melt' and form a bond stronger than the plastic... Great stuff.. You just need some practice to start to shape it good.
|
Tamiya make a bunch of good glues that "weld" the plastics together. A good example is a plastic cement...

Thanks guys, I'll go this afternoon and see if my LHS has any styrene (my area only has one hobby store, it sucks really). If not I'll try figuring out something easy. Also, there's some more work on the BK and chasis has been worked on too. I'm going to post pics later this afternoon, I'll also list the specs in the original post.
~-)-------- P.S. I'm still trying to meet up with my friend to get the 350Z body from him. |
First things first, Sorry Mods for Double Posting, wasn't my intention to, just no one's written or replied to this post.
With that said, A Minor Update and a couple Questions. First, I've gotten bored waiting for my friend to get back to me when I can stop by and pick up the body, so I've been playing with the Meshing I've recently bought. So I cut the intake vents on the hood and put meshing on it and the rear bumper. http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/phot...07436_6126.jpg http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/phot...07437_6623.jpg The Hood http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/phot...07438_6816.jpg The Rear Bumper ---------------------------------- Ok, So now a couple Questions for my fello JDM Loving Xmodders. I want to give this car a clean JDM look with the minimal amount of chrome (the Tailpipes). Originally I thought of a Black Soft Top, with a Creame/"Light Beige" Color, a black hood, and black lower deck accenting (around the whole body). The Rims will continue to be the silver painted Scion Rims (might be changed for all-black or white wheels later). However, now with this meshing I can add a third color to the mix, I thought of possibly painting the meshing blue, that way I'd have a Black and Beige/white car with blue meshing. I'm still debating the car's color in my head though. So right now I'm open to Ideas, how about it my fellow Xmodders? |
good work. looking more and more like it haha
Im not really fan of the the black hoods. i think you should keep the hood the same color as the body |
sweet..i like it so far but i have one question for you i thought it was a veilside project not a JDM.
Jon |
Lol it is a veilside project, but Veilside is the company that makes the body kit, unless I'm wrong about that. I want to give it a nice color, I actually picked something out today. I was screwing around and found that Candy Apple Red with a Gold base looks nice. So this is going to be a Candy Apple Red Veilside Nissan 350Z. I dont know about leaving the hood black or not yet, but first things first, I should be getting the body sometime today so they'll be an update later on.
|
Funny because i thought about a veilside 350Z for a while but never got around to getting the body to do the project. haha.

BTW what color shoudl I make the Aluminum Mesh? |
Time for another Update, this time #4:
I got the 350Z body from my friend finally yesterday. Man I got an old feeling of Nostalgia when I saw it. I'd forgotten the condition it was in. Though at the moment all I've done was mount the body kit (hasn't been epoxied yet), I hope you guys begin to get a feel for my vision of this project. So enjoy it, as it's the true begining of whats to be a beautiful project. Oh and before I post the pics, I've decided I'm using the Stock Spoiler, the color of the car will be Candy Apple Red with a Gold Base. The hood's color will be decided on the day I paint the car (black hood is ready already). And now the Pics: http://photos-767.ll.facebook.com/ph...19879_8627.jpg http://photos-767.ll.facebook.com/ph...19880_8955.jpg The 350Z body for this project. (front and back) This body was already cut up, a friend cut it claiming it'd cool down his motor, and I just stared at him calling him an idiot, the initial cut was very jagged (I cleaned it up) and eventually convinced him to give it to me. My other friend was holding it for me this summer. http://photos-767.ll.facebook.com/ph...19882_9488.jpg http://photos-767.ll.facebook.com/ph...19883_9951.jpg Body Kit Mounted http://photos-767.ll.facebook.com/ph...19881_9228.jpg And finally the project's main pic (kinda looks like a commercial for Tamiya lol....) Enjoy, more to come soon as I begin school again. ~-)----------- Kaze |
hope it turns out good:), btw where do you get that tamiya putty? im guessing LHS?
|
