powdered graphite.
hello i was wondering if it would be a good idea to use powdered graphite lubricant for such things as bearings and the drive gears...
i would think it would be good its not oil based so it wont gunk up and its supposed to be the one if the best kinds of lubricant from what i hear what are ur guys opinions on this??? thanks |
I would be careful about using powered graphite...I believe it's conductive and if got on your PCB or in your motor, it may cause electrical gremlins.

Though powdered graphite may not attract dust and all that other gunk it doesnt stick too well to the bearings and gears itself. The only place I would only consider using it is the drive gears where it is enclosed, otherwise after one or two rune you would have to re-lubricate everything over again.
