Merc3des's Garage

Okay look, my garage happens to be a one car garage atm  Recently sold the mercedes and am going to try and build a collection. I think I am going to start making cars and keeping them, so I started this one 2 days ago and recently finished it. It is a really good track car, performs real nice, and isn't too fast. No body at the moment, any suggestions? Plastic chassis parts are all painted black. Used for the first time last night.

It's just meant to be able to handle well at the RCP Track that I go to. Competes in the modified xmod class.

My new Xmod gen 1 Drifter. I did services for this guy and as soon as I finished he said he would sell the car to me for $60 and I was like deal! He wanted parts for his RC-18:weird: Wierd.

Lithium 2S Pack by me, Carbon fiber chassis, AWD, Stage 1 Neo mags, locked differentials, some new rims and a nice cobra body.

nice car. may i suggest getting gpm dampers?
then it's look totally decked out.

btw try direct soldering your motor wires to the board to get better performance.
and why not use some heatshrink instead of electrical tape on your lith kit's plug wires? just my $0.02

merc3des 09-07-2008 02:28 PM

The tape is so the wire doesn't get caught in the tire. Tape just keeps the two wires together. There is heatshrink under it. Yea I'm doing that tonight, soldered the whole thing in 10 minutes. Including the lithium pack  Had to go to my friends birthday party yesterday afternoon so right before I went to the track I soldered everything together.

SUPERSHELBY 09-07-2008 02:36 PM

nice....id rather paint the dampers. save your money...plus it can look just as good if done right

stang_racer 09-07-2008 03:12 PM

ya there isnt much difference between the two is there? and ive never seen the point in alloy dampeners either besides bling, so i plus one here and say stick with the stockers

HUMMER H4 09-07-2008 03:13 PM

Very nice lol imma send my truck to u if u can solder in 10 mins.....

BulletsRain 09-07-2008 03:25 PM

Looks nice dude! As for a body.....I'm not sure. How fast does it go?

merc3des 09-07-2008 03:27 PM

not sure, I think I might dyno it, but it handles real nice.

UPDATE: Wtf my wheels wont turn but the motor pinion is touching the main gear. Gotta investigate. probably getting a new diff, and locking it.

xmodkidd33 09-07-2008 04:20 PM

Sometimes keeping a diff unlocked is better for track racing, with all of the turns and stuff, or at least it's been better with me.

JDMDUDE 09-07-2008 04:58 PM

that chassie looks nice

merc3des 09-07-2008 07:02 PM

thank you, lol im glad I joined this forum.

XMDrifter 09-07-2008 09:26 PM

try to keep the gears from binding
and the alloy dampers are just more durable than the stock. it'll wear out slower.

merc3des 09-08-2008 07:21 PM

yea i really gotta find this problem.

XMDrifter 09-08-2008 09:40 PM

inspect the gear mesh throughout the car, and make sure they aren't too tight. then check to see if your wheels or rotating parts are catching on something.

kart59gtr2driver 09-09-2008 12:36 AM
