Xmods 2013 Fall
Hmm interesting! Read this
"In addition, RadioShack will be re-launching XMODS, which are DIY remote control car or truck kits that customers can build, tune, and race, which will be available this fall." :eyecraz::eyecraz: Is this for real? NEW XMODS FOR 2013?! |
Looks pretty legit to me. There goes some more of my money...
|
Haha. Guess I gotta make some more money to burn...
|
OMG
I'm so glad I just remembered these forums the other day, GOOD FIND. Maybe this forum will get some life again. We need new/more staff... lol I CALL ADMIN PLZ? |
I think it's time to get our hopes up.
I'm guessing: 2014 Chevy Corvette Current Gen Camaro (I know there was already the Bumblebee one, but I'm hoping for a "vanilla" Camaro) SRT Viper I'm honestly hoping for a Lambo, but find it highly unlikely. I'd love to see a Chevy Sonic as well, simply because that's what I drive... lol edit- I'd also love to see the '14 Chevy SS |
More trucks!
|
Great news, but a bad time for me to be getting laid off now...:eyecraz:
|
I'm curious to see what they come up with this time. Hopefully they don't try to recycle the last batch that they put out.

It's sad that AtomicMods is going down the rail! Economics....
But xmods will be in is heart, and all of ours to!! Well as for Radioshack, let's be honest's... if there is rumors that will be a 2013 version of xmods... we will wait and see...but my question is: If a product that was very well selled all over the world, that we even (Portuguese) have it selled it here in Portugal by Carson, and had and have a huge aftermarket behind it specially by GPM what the hell the CEO's of those company's are doing? (for not being able to see the sucess xmods had and have) Just receiving money to do nothing month after month and selling toys that even kids do not like... reminds me the so calle RC brand "Traxxas"... making ****tless after ****lless after ****lees coming up everytime with stuff that is nich and very rare that no one normally buy.... If they make the real stuff like "Team Mugen Seiki" or "Team Xray", they will conquer the rc world with their huge Traxxas marketing! But no... make plastic and weird stuff that only 1 out of 10.000 person will buy! Whatever.... There are more brand's to choose from, and i would love to see a 1/7 truggy and a massive bullet proof e-revo from Traxxas revision to conquer the bash scene! Back to xmods! So if they are coming with the same evolution toys, with there own upgrades like the older version's, and aftermarket took it, they will be on top and rival the competitors.... Xmod's very well equipped are good or even excelent rc's! |
History repeating itself I say. Just about 8-10 years ago the first Fast and Furious movie came out and everyone was into xmods. Now Fast and furious 6 out everyone gonna be into cars agian LOL
|
Its been a long time.
I remeber last year when I was in radioshack the manager, who in 2005 sold me my first xmod, told me that they would be getting some shipped in. That never happened, maybe this is what he was talking about. I'm hoping for a new chassis though. In order to compete in the "micro" class at my lhs it gonna have to be fast. Technology has gotten so much better in the years scince xmods peaked. Brushless losi micro rallys can do up to 80 mph and ththey have things that xmods don't, like a servo |
Quote:
micro-t's have been doing that stuff with brushed motors for years and years. the rally just made it easier because of the 4wd platform. xmods were never hobby grade to begin with. i doubt they will be now. another thing. speed isnt everything. that 80mph is gonna be useless on a track. hell you barely hit 20-25mph on a technical track. |

Hopefully more news will come out soon about the chassis and models.
|
I'm hoping for so etching more like the gen 1. With the gen 1 the ts upgrades where actually pretty good. The evo upgrades where very small improvments
|
we should start making a list of xmods we would like to see, i would like to see the new honda crz or the crx
|
I want to see an evo 10 and a Lexus LFA maybe? Cadillac CTSV? Cant really think of that many imports that they havent done yet.... Maybe the new NSX concept?
|
Subaru Br-z/Fr-s
Chevy Sonic XD |
mk6 golf/gti/golf r.. any of them
mk7 golf/gti/gtd maybe? mk6 beetle? audi rs4 and rs6 avant mazda miata as far as trucks go toyota tundra or tacoma chevy silverado as far as SUVs go audi q7 toyota 4runner toyota land cruiser |
if it is the same chassis hopefully they update it a little.stronger plastic for main chassis and a true hobby grade esc system.Don't care if it's AM,FM or 2.4 also get rid of the folding radio......any spy shots i been searching the web and nothing.
|
Highly doubt they will give us hobby grade esc. It would be nice though.
|
The ESC can be toy grade as long as its proportional. The steering hopefully will have more "steps" to it. Like a mini z
|
So I just barely saw this news in an atomicmods.com newsletter email.
I remember the early days of xmods being very fun, right on through the fist round of Evolution Xmods, a big part of the fun for me was the body kits, the light kits, and of course the faster motors. I didn't end up buying any of the "street" Xmods because they didn't have body kits, and I just wasn't too interested in the cars that they came out with, except maybe the 370Z, well the GT-R was kind of nice too. Even in full scale cars, it seems like body kits have become less common. The cars right from the manufacturer don't lend themselves as easily to body kits, now that bumper covers are more streamline integrated into the car it seems. That's just my observation, I could be wrong. In the past few weeks, I've been trying to find a good charger for AAA batteries so I can start driving my Xmods again. My original Xmods charger doesn't seem to be working, I don't know if it's the charger, or the types of batteries I bought for it. I haven't found a quick charger, everything says it takes hours to charge. I'm kind of thinking about getting an atomic mods lipo set up, but I want the regular AAAs for my kids to run. |
Sweeeeeeeet!!!! I've been waiting for this! Forum needs some life.

oh great
LOL.. here we go again
I wouldn't get TOO excite.... mostly like if "Xmods" get a re-release it's going to be the sad downgrade "Street" version all over again. It's was a miracle that the "Street" series was even release. I still believe TO THIS DAY.. that series was MADE possible by the FAN base.. my BS guess on the Xmods 2013 Fall release: Ford Mustang Chevrolet Corvette Dodge Challenger ^--- dead given... no doubt about it on a side note: GOOD too SEE ALL ya :) |

i dont care what they are going to be.... but if they have a truck im buying one, i have always wanted one but could never afford one because they were more rare than the cars |
New xmods!?
Lol Good to see some familliar faces around this place still. I've been out of the RC game for awhile, but looking at a 1/10 or 1/8 scale nitro to get back into it. |
i was in the area and walked into my local radio shack and asked the lady in there if she knew anything. she said that they were confirmed and will be available online before in stores. she also told me that she thought it was dumb that they discontinued them because they were such good sellers
|
^--- i never trust a RS employee, the ones in my area are "clueless"

Think About it????
Quote:
Radio Shack was jumping on the band-wagon during the hype of the Import Scene a.k.a (The Fast and the Furious) days if u think about it... The 1st Gen and Evo Gen had more sponsors and backings vs the Street Series... when it comes down too it... it's all about marketing |
Quote:
Why do you think they will bring them back? It has been years since they last released a new XMODS model. |

Well, now that a spy photo! Great! So for the real world, the mountain as calved a mouse! :dh) Only good news is the 1/24 scale! Stupidity level! Absolutly toy grade with no upgrade and stupid child bodys. Well i will buy the evo series now..on ebay, for my final projects on brushless from the VE miniz's! :rockon2: End of story PS: But wait and see in person... i could be wrong... but that photo says it all... |
