Updated!! Drifting with white pvc tires!
I cut some white pvc drift tires for my white supra. This is just the chassis drifting without a body. I was still just testing it out. It worked out great! its a blast and i can control it really well! Let me know what you think!
The picture is when it was rwd. It has awd now! http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...8/IMG_0447.jpg Video:
Oh and how do I get the video to be a standalone unit to post it in the thread and not as a url? |
cool man. it looks good on the black chassis.
so umm, gonna tell us whats under the hood? didnt look like a stage 1 stock motor to me?
:P |
what size pvc
the chassis is all stock except for the awd kit and a metal heatsink. im still trying to get used to it so no stage 2 motor in it yet lol. thanks for all the complements guys!! ill get back to you about the pvc size its in my dorm and im home for the weekend
thats pretty crazy, i would have never guessed that you could fit PVC pipping on an xmod and still have it work.
yea it works pretty darn well. i had to shave down the middle plastic divider thingy on the wheels and then just popped the pvc on. no glue or anything needed a perfect fit!
it not only works good it looks retarted too.
cheers. |
nice vid the pvc tires works well
Would it be possible if we were to sand uo the pvc a bit so it get the same size has the xmod tires???

do you guys think that putting pledge on the pvc will make it drift better
You would have to sand it down a lot to make the same size as xmod tires. Youd probably be better off buying the rs drift kit. I wanted to be able to make a bunch of tires so when they are worn i can just swap them out. I dont know if you could do that with the rs ones or not. Oh and I dont think you would need pledge to make it work any better, it already slides like crazy! Its quite fun. The size of the pvc is 3/4". I got the 3/4" silverline from lowes!
Oh and i just watched the vid again, the sounds is kinda off. lol at the end when the chassis isnt even moving its making noise. i guess when i downloaded it to youtube it messed up or something |
Looks like it doesnt take a whole lot to get it to drift. Nice job on the tires.
That's awesome! I wish I had enough room in my kitchen to do that stuff! Instead, I've been limited to areas such as tennis courts to bust out with the fun stuff.
me too
I could even have more room, i would just need to push our couch out of the way and double the space! lol thanks for the complements guys! ill try to get a better vid with the body on it this weekend.
you know whatll make you drift better? 5 cell !! it can even make stock tires drift, trust me
Im looking into that, but i dont really need the extra power just yet! lol
Nice, I hadnt seen this video until now. Good job. You should trim a body up to make it fit with a body it will look better drifting :)
Im working on that now. I bought 3 beater bodies that im going to trim up and repaint to use as drifter bodies. I also got another chassis for my lil brother too so we can both drift. Ill get pics of the finished drifters next weekend! I gotta wait for the bodies to come in the mail.
Updated Pictures! The bodies are just to show what they might look like. They are not going to be used for drifting. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...DriftXmods.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...riftXmods3.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...riftXmods2.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...8/IMG_0605.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...8/IMG_0604.jpg |
nice job i love your cars.
Thanks! Ill get more updated pictures and videos this coming weekend. I still need to wait for the beater bodies.
Hey cool vid. Thanks for sharing. :)
Are you going to paint the PVC black?.... |
If i paint it black then it would just rub off while i was drifting. Ill look into, but i think im just going to keep them white.
Updated pictures! this is the final product! body bought from mini-z Drifter. Its just a drifter beater body! but this is what im going to be using for a little fun!

nice. you should try to get some pvc for the slamed wheels. that would be kick@ss
i thought about that, but it would make the tires really tall and i would have to cut some more out of the wheel wells.
Why dont u try out doing that with ABS pipes? Thats the stuff they use in their hard 8.5mm wheels in atomic mods.
well i bought a 6ft pipe of pvc for 1.50 sooo yea i didnt want to spend too much money on it.
Cool Man. Ill need to do that! Oh check this SIK video out!
holy crap that video is great! I need to get that good lol. I still have the stock motor in....i guess its time to upgrade and see what this xmod can do
