New member from Central Florida
Hello my fellow Xmodders. Im from florida and own 5 xmods. Im in the process of modding one now. I took some pics of four of my xmods. Ill list what I done to them and the problems they have. If anyone have any solutions, please do tell.
http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0377.jpg My Gen 1 Supra with custom paint job and some Radioshack upgrades. I left batteries in the packs and everyone of them leaked acid. I got to get it looked at. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0363.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0364.jpg Lancer Evo drifter, I cut out all vents, painted Blue, AWD, and some other Radioshack upgrades. It acts like the signal is cutting in and out. ( Im guessing the radio band is going out. not for sure.) http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0369.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0370.jpg Scion Tc with the wide bodykit, AtomicMods aluminum Stiletto chassis, AtomicMods aluminum rear/front control arm, aluminum rear gear box (full gear box), AtomicMods Lithium Ion Pro S2 Pack, Radioshack stage 2 motor up grade. I fried the foward Fet after I installed the Lithiums. I got 2 sets of AtomicMods upgraded FETs on the way, and want to get 4 more FETs, the front aluminum gear box, and an AtomicMods motor. But I dont know which motor ( any suggestions). I want this to be my drag car. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0372.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0373.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0374.jpg Audi R8 AWD, bone stock (starter kit). I want to make this my track car ( more for cornering). What should i do to it? http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0366.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0368.jpg My 5th xmod is another scion tc. I fried the foward FET on it to ( it was the first board I installed the Liths on.). I also managed to mess up the servo motor ( I think.), It stays turned to the right or left ( dont remember which way, its been a while since i messed with it). Thanks for any help yall give me. |
Get a atomic stock r motor or a custom wound motor from someone on the forums
|
Is that the Blue Evolution motor?
Update.... The FETs came in today. I wish i had the other 4, so I can put them on :(. |
Tht scion is so nice, the lancer is cool to, needs a cleaun'up
but nice col. Dude. |

Thanks, I want to give the TC a paint job. I havent decided on the color yet. Yea the Lance has hit quite a few things :p, but its part of the learning process. Lol. |

What are some upgrades I need for a good drift car E.I. number of FETs stacked, and motor. |
I use a evo with stock motor, bearings upgrade and custom drift tires.
here is a pic if my drifter http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...928_194152.jpg |
ok.
Nice stang. |
These are my other stangs.
http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...928_194120.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...928_194238.jpg oh!! BTW, u should do a project thread if u paint the scion....u know, to give others ideas on how u paint and such, I know I love knew ideas. |
get bearings if you dont yet they smooth everything out for drifting and if you want to change the motor use one with alot of torque or you could do what I did I made my own drift motor, I could get pics of my motor if you want.
|
Wat motor did u use?
|
i used a motor from a japanease model kit since it had alot of torque and i put in stronger magnets ,new armature ,brushes from a stage 1 and hacked up the can. I still need to test it though since im waiting for my gpm front knuckles.
|
Yea u better or it will end up like mine, when I did the board swap, the knuckle wet pop!
|
well the only reason im getting gpm was because i broke mine
|
I thought u were geting gpm cause you were afraid the stock ones would break lol.
|
been there done that lol.
|
Where do u get ur alluninum parts from, any special place?
I wads just wandering, cause I want to get some, but I don't know the best place |
i got it from asiatees.com they have every gpm part still in stock but make sure your there when it comes because you have to sign for it. I missed it yesterday and have to wait forever now.

Basically all u need to drift is awd, and drift tires.
|
I say nay. In the simplest matters, if you want to drift, you must have an AWD kit. For the tires, just wrap them in scotch tape, masking tape, or electrical tape. A more powerful motor doesn't help (in my experience), suspension doesn't help, tie rod upgrades don't help. Just AWD and electrical wheels is what I use in my drift setup. Everything else is stock.
|
Well that is so true,
|
The majority of members here prefer a motor set up with good torque, such as the stock stage one motor combination, to have the adequate torque needed to drift. I, on the other hand, have had more success just using a stage 2 set up. There is one indicated in the upgrade for drifting, but I can't recall the color or specifications off the top of my head. As Taiwanese Kid mentioned, tires wrapped in electrical tape works well for a lot of members, but you can also get the drift wheels that are a little better in my opinion.
|
Yea if u like just playin' round, tape is perfect, but if u like style and keepin it real then drift tyrs are for u
|
k. Thanks, I guess i dont need to do anything to it then. The evo has the RS stage 2 drift motor, AWD, and drift kit.
|
I guess its drift time then

Sounds bad, I have a few chassis that do the same thing, I can't figure it out.
BTW, did u mess with the ride highth any on the supra |
Nope, I havent messed with anything on the supra. Just some RS upgrades.
|
Oh! I was just wandering, cause it kooks like it rides lower than my stock supras
this is after I loemwered it http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...928_193834.jpg Here is wat it looked like stock http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...608_085543.jpg |
looks good. I think im going to lower the front and maybe some of the rear on the Tc.
|
I just lowered myn with a peice of psp game case, I just cut it and screwd it to the chassis
|
So i got bored today and installed the 2 sets of FETs I got from AM, and lowered the front on the TC. I did a test drive on what little space i have and its awesome. I will get a 2x6 FET stack for it later.
Heres some pics Stock http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0383.jpg Lowered http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0386.jpg If you look at the front wheel wells, you can see the difference http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0384.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0388.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0385.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0387.jpg Stock FET burnt http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0381.jpg Stacked FETs http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0390.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0391.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/101_0389.jpg |
Nice job man,the lowered body does look way better then raised way up,nice job on the fet replacemant,i just had to replace a resistor on my gen 1,cause it burnt up so I know the feeling of burnin' sumthin'.
|
Thanks.
I got an update on the Tc. It doesn't go foward anymore. Shortly after my last post t I was Driving it around in my garage, and had a head on collision with the lawn mower wheel. ever since then it stopped going foward. I checked the FETs to make sure they were still on. They are still connected. What could be the problem for this? |
It probably busted a resistor on the board, did u do a complete board check.
|
No I didn't. I don't evrn know what i should begin to lookin for.
|
I would just check every thing, I start by lookin at all the wire hook ups ,then any resistors,
BTW! Did u try to put a difrent motor in it? |
Ill have to do some researchin on the board and its components, so i kind of know what im doing.
yea i swapped motors. |
I looked at my board and couldnt find anything wrong ( even comparing to another board).I may be overlooking something. I got some pics could you look over them and see if i missed anything. Thanks for the help.
