Bananabrain 01-12-2011 09:14 PM

I ordered a set of 35w 4500k ddm tuning HID's for my low beams.

Bananabrain 01-21-2011 05:39 PM

Well my HID's showed up today & I am going to install them first thing Saturday morning, since its cold & I am being to lazy too do it tonight. lol

Bananabrain 01-22-2011 02:30 PM

Double post....

Well I tried to get a shot with an HID on one side & halogen on the other & that didn't work. lol

So I had to take a pic with the driving lights on & the HID's on.

Before:

After the wiring was done (I mounted the ballast on the fender on the drivers side & to the radiator suppost on the passengers side):

Just the HID's (they are so white/blue that you can't really tell there on in the pic, but they are very bright even in broad daylight).

I will try to get a night pic tonight.

Bananabrain 01-23-2011 04:03 PM

This afternoon I tested the bulbs & ballast & I have come to the conclusion that the ballast is fine it is the bulb so I will be calling ddm tommorrow after school & look into the warrenty & getting the bulb replaced.

Bananabrain 01-24-2011 07:27 PM

Well I called ddm tuning today & got everything worked out & they are supposed to be sending me two brand new replacement bulbs for free (don't have to ship the old ones back).

Bananabrain 01-29-2011 03:46 PM

Got my replacement bulbs today, I installed them & they work perfectly.

Bananabrain 02-07-2011 08:26 PM

Here are a few pics of my new headlights in my driveway that I just took.

Well i tinted my stock taillights. Did it myself & it cost me $20. two coats of vht nightshade & 5 coats of krylon gloss clear, turned out a bit darker than I was wanting them too. They aren't 100% perfect but it saved me some money by doing it myself.

The light still shows through pretty well, but the light output sucked before I tinted them anyways, I may put some leds in.

Also ignore the dirty truck.

Some pics:

here are some night pics:
Here they are with just the regular parking lights on. You may be wondering why I have two bulbs lit per side (well my brake lights are not on) I did a 03+ taillight mod on my truck this morning so when just my parking lights are on I have four bulbs lit up instead of just two.
http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/o..._07/004-81.jpg

I still have the brake light ability, gets much brighter.
http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/o..._07/005-74.jpg

Just the light all by itself.

They turned out nice! I love the smoked look. Much better than stock.

Here are some day shots with the lights off. I plan on painting the silver trim around the parking lights black, it will just look better.

And yes I know there is condensation on the top corner lense.

Bananabrain 03-12-2011 02:37 PM

Got my new valve covers on. Also finally got my lights aligned pretty much perfectly so I can see everything going down the road. Now I just need too get my headers put on.

Thanks & yea I know its a pretty common problem with aftermarket corner lenses on these years of trucks, don't know why but they are.

Bananabrain 03-17-2011 11:00 PM

Here is a new vid I made of my truck, not much different than the last one, but the sound quality is a bit better.
