I honestly dont know much about the Yok being broken, or anything all i know is that i heard a click everytime i switch gears or when accelerating from a stop. I thought it was spark plugs misfirin which they were, only one of them was, i think...the rest were just old and crappy

So i got all of them replaced with E3 diamond fires...

And yeah oops, sorry i just looked in the book...its a 5.3L...and yeha i knew it was a V8, i just typed fast and did it by accident...

Back to the Yok, after i replaced all the plugs it was still making a loud Tick everytime, and now its gotten even worse like 5 clicks everytime i switch gears, so i took it to GM they said i have a broken/cracked or W/e yok. They said it should be fine and its not that big of a deal...

And X i dont think this truck has any system like that, i know my sis's car has that and same with my moms...

Either Way my truck does run, My point in the entire thing was it runs bad as hell. And eats gas for breakfast lunch and dinner 24/7...

EDIT: oh and about the CRX joke, i was just poking fun at sweed, i obviously know its not a 2 cycle, i have a 2 cycle pocket bike...and..:

Funny thing is im upgradin that bike to a 4 stroke...

Sweed 05-04-2008 05:33 PM

Eh....

Bikes? I just spent $300 on a Trek..
But hey, just 'cuase I drive a gas sipping Honda doesn't mean I don't get gas. I mean, you get used to filling your tank once a month (or less?)...

meme405 05-04-2008 06:23 PM

Trek is nice, i have like a 600$ iron horse...

Im used to filling up one of the tanks once a week. costing me like 100$...

The truck doesn't even begin to run on 4 cylinders until it has reached highway speeds, so of course it's not going to run on 4 cylinders at a stop.

Let's face it, no work truck will ever get good gas mileage, ever. If it's getting used as a truck, it's suckin gas and haulin ***.

If you buy a truck for economy, you're out of your **** mind. My 95 Dodge 1/2 ton with a 360, that's right, a 360 get's maybe 14 mpg on the highway if I'm lucky. Pulling a trailer, pssh what the hell is gas mileage?

I AM THE BUG ANNIHALATER!

I just finished a 346 mile round trip, averaged 18.6 MPG over all, and was cruising 70 mph at 20 MPG.

That is true theoriganalRiD3R1967 (I seen it on mythbusters),but you will have to be like a inch or smaller away form the back of the truck, and its more like 10%-20% gas saving. If a semi truck stops, your screwed.
You don't have to be an inch off the truck, this is 3 car lengths back, at about 55 mph, 34 mpg easy:

Cruise control works wonders in MPG, keeps my heavy left-lane passing foot off the gas.

He's right.
In my CRX, I can sit in 5th gear like a car length (my car length, btw) behind a semi, and the milage would probably hit 45+ mph...

Gas milage is addictive.

meme405 05-05-2008 09:09 PM

Yes but life expectancy Vs. saving gas...Its an inverse relationship, the more gas you save by this method the lower your life expenctancy goes...

texan_idiot25 05-05-2008 09:17 PM

Hardly, don't tail the truck and your fine. As far back as I was, that's the normal following distance. A good 3 second gap. You'll stop faster then the 18 wheeler, and have a 3 second time frame to react.

XMDrifter 05-05-2008 10:02 PM

naturally the semi's don't know you're back there cuz they have no hindsight, but thing is if you're driving a loaded down truck then when they slam the brakes...

texan_idiot25 05-05-2008 10:08 PM

I don't care how loaded it is, obviously use some of that god-given common sense when judging your following distance of any vehicle.

My car will stop quicker than many cars on the road.
Much quicker.

I don't have the patience to sit behind a truck at 65mph. I'll fall asleep.

coolcar24th 05-06-2008 05:25 PM

How bout we all just get motorcycles? And all have great gas mileage? :D

I drive a four-wheeled-motorcycle. :uhoh:

color0 05-06-2008 07:02 PM

Correction: a 4-wheeled FWD motorbike.

Gas is hitting 4.20 where I am, this is quite ridiculous. My 525i isn't really a gas-sipper either... :(

We're almost at 4.20, haven't checked lately, but we were at like 4.10 something last time I checked.

Sweed 05-06-2008 07:43 PM

texan_idiot25 05-06-2008 07:52 PM

How big is your tank?
From absolute empty on my car, it's 11.2 gallons to full, but it never runs bellow.... like 1/10 of a tank.

texan_idiot25 05-06-2008 08:53 PM

I want to say around 14-16 gallons, but I don't remember.

meme405 05-07-2008 12:20 AM

Im all about the Liters...Crazy american system...metric FTW...
