Mine should be here tomorrow. I'll post pics and do a comparison/writeup to see how you guys feel about it. They supposedly want our input for improvement on the Xmods. I'm sure they'll hear a lot of stuff they don't want to.

ill be doing a comparison and a review as well.

we get the beta models.

jimmythekid1 09-26-2013 11:15 PM

Maybe I missed it, but what is the price point on these going to be?

mycrors4 09-26-2013 11:19 PM

$59.99 for the 1/24
$69.99 for the 1/16

jimmythekid1 09-26-2013 11:26 PM

So ten bucks inflation for what looks to be less quality.

we dont know that just yet. the chassis itself might perform a lot better. the body's being non-scale is a -1, but it just allows for more custom bodied projects.

xmods were $60 before they were disconitued

I remember when you could pick them up for $25. Well time will tell.

allbeengone 09-27-2013 07:22 PM

So far:
Pros-
Very responsive
Good suspension geometry
Range isn't terrible
Cons-
With the regular rear end and AA batteries, it's terribly slow
When turning the wheels, lock to lock, the front lower A arms wiggle on the metal rods that hold them in place. I can see that wearing out
Regular rear end doesn't have a differential, it's full time posi
I'm afraid to jump anything with it, because the front and rear slide into the main chassis, and lock in with 4 screws.
More to come this weekend.

AntxmodMiniz12322 09-29-2013 09:43 AM

Why would the gear it up so high? A bigger pinion and a smaller spur would add ATLEAST 50% more speed....

suicide_star 09-29-2013 12:53 PM

So, the spur gear is obviously waaay too big. AA battery pack and Losi Frenzy 370 motor:

What spur gear are you talking about?
