Just a preview for my friends on XMS.... www.trixminigarage.com

Keep the Hobby alive. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Started this with my buddy Adam. My Tax ID arrived and OO-Rah, Expect the same LOW (lowest) prices and free services you are used to but improved customer service in regards to project turn around.

I took a look at your new site and like what I see so far. I guess I will be one of your first customers for some sets of hot rims. In any case good luck with it and I hope it does what you want it to.

two suggestion,maybe three :bigwink:

-renforce the steering rod where the servo horn goes in,i tried the same 2 years a go and even a 5gr hobby servo broken that part.go for a gpm one maybe.
-try to put the servo in vertical position,it's very easy to do this using iwaver 02M servo mounting and iwaver 02m servo saver&servo horn. You can find both at towers
-if you want to really go fast and burn roadstripes,go for 2 lipos,if you want to race good on tracks,go back for 4 good AAA(intellect, orion or similar).in this last you can even lower the CG,lowering your upper deck.

it's not a simple work connecting standard servo to xmods or mini-z board, you can go for a good results with hobbygrade rx and esc, here a few examples:

rx:gws pico,corona,acoms spektrum(the smallest dsm rx)
esc:tekin b1,xray XCM300,novak spy,but even some small esc tou find in stock 1:18 car like associated or similar are very good for this and, taking apart theri case, their load is no more than 20 grams, cable included

Some updates. Im still waiting on some stuff I ordered to finish: new lith cells, front knuckles, rear axles. After they arrive I can fully assemble the car.

I got the front end built, and got the RV board installed.

I think I will clean the wires up a bit before I call it complete.

spitfire 12-18-2009 03:46 AM

Dang, that thing is purty. Cant wait to see it racing.

sciontc333 12-18-2009 10:06 AM

that is cleaner than a stock evo, lol.

TripleXmodder(akaXXX) 12-20-2009 06:33 PM

So I finished her up, for now anyway. The GPM front knuckles and rear axles from Asiatees haven't arrived yet, so for now I have the stock plastic ones on her. I also will wrap the lith cells in black heatshrink, paint the PCB tray black, and when Bondo sends me the servo case he painted black for me I will swap that out. My dad wants the stock Firebird body, but before I give it to him I will probably make a custom body for COTM entry only. So anyway, here she is..... I will post final pix after the holidays when the other parts get here.

For now she has an ANIMA II motor, but the final car will have a Speedy07 BB.

WOW that thing is amazing. How much money is in it?

TripleXmodder(akaXXX) 12-24-2009 09:06 PM

Over $300.00

lol 12-24-2009 09:27 PM

What happened to the front left tire? :( Looks like a rat thought it was cheese

TripleXmodder(akaXXX) 12-24-2009 11:24 PM

LOL. I had to do some last minute soldering and hit it. I'm gonna replace it.

lol 12-24-2009 11:43 PM

Are those them expensive mini-z tires? That would suck if they are...

tayyab 12-25-2009 07:31 AM

Very nice man. The purple really looks better than I thought.:)

That is the cleanest install I have ever seen.
Awesome work man.

BTW, you considered dropping in a patternwound motor? ;)

Hope your dad enjoys it.:)

Later, T.I.M

TripleXmodder(akaXXX) 12-25-2009 12:01 PM

Thanks guys, yeah dad loves it. I'm home for Xmas right now. They are just xmod tires. No plans for a pattern wound I usually just stick with PN motors.

tayyab 12-25-2009 12:15 PM

Lmao. I was offering to make one for you.

Later, T.I.M

Rovonic 01-02-2010 02:47 PM

Triple X, this is simply amazing work. Those purple liths look amazing! I can't wait for your website to open up. I'm trying very, very hard to stop spending money for this hobby but the work of modders like you make it difficult, to say the least.

On another note, how did your tie dye attempt of the stock parts turn out? I'm dying to rid myself of that ugly grey servo box on my evo.
