Generation 1's handle 7.4 Volts EVO handle 8.4 volts

dumb answers....

xmods handle 8.4v without any problems...if you are dealing with motors you are talking about high CURRENT draw, nothing to do with the voltage and the v2.2 mostly deal with current as well, so 8.4 is safe under any circumstances

EDIT: remember, the higher the voltage the faster the motor will spin=more speed

EDIT: remember, the higher the voltage the faster the motor will spin=more speed

also remember, the more the voltage, the more likely you'll be able to blow ur xmods apart in a firely ball of flame and plastic

Ok buddy listen to me. I will tell you the correct answer here so don't listen to anyone else's.

Lithiums have a regular voltage of 3.7v per cell. So 7.2 when in 2 are put together in the usual case of a Xmod. Now When you charge Lithiums in this case a 2 cell pack, the charger charges them to 8.4 volts. Now they are put to 8.4 but after running them or sitting for a long period of time they will run down to their regular voltage of 3.7v per cell and stay there for a majority of your run time.

I put it in as simple of words as possible, hope it helps.

ur saying that a normal 7.2 pack is charged to 8.4????and then goes down to 7.4?WTF?

yo chinesekid i have FULL GPM parts so i dont think i'll worry about that plus a pitfan for serious cases and a freezer for emergencies:lol:

i wonder if anyone can make an xmods with only using an xmods ep board and servo then the rest with gpm parts...

uh yeah you can but you would have to be careful not to short something out. metal is one good conductor of electricity

then you would use insulators...duh

so then can i use 8.4 without any fear of buring something?

If your running the V2 like I am, Then voltage isn't an issue. The T2 is the same motor that I'm running also and have great results with it. For those of you that don't run a V2,l ike lilskipro587 said, li-ion/poly charge to a peak voltage of 8.4 volts and then drop to a more constant 7.4 volts as the car/truck is being used.

basicly 7.4 batt charge till 8.4 and then drop, but what if i use 8.4 in the first place?
