you can, but it is really hard on your fets and your motor, i would sugges a 5,6, or 7 cell

would 2x2 upgrade work with 8 cell?

should work but I would go for a lipo battery pack instead to keep weight down

do that, the 8 cell might not fit under the car/truck, 8 cells are very big

im not positive but i don't think 8 cells has anything to do with the fets, the thing i would be worried about would be frying the board, 9.6v is too much.

I guess fets has nothing to do with the number of voltages ur xmod can take. You will Probably burn your EP but the fets would have nothing to do with it.

I wouldn't do it, it would weigh a ton and that would make you lose some power anyway

No 8 cells would most definatly blow the fets. trust me i tried.

fets have nothing to do with that
the electronic board as a whole can only safely tolerate up to 8.4 volts.

Wow, bunch of noobs that dont know what they're talking about. FETS has Nothing to do with the battery voltage/batteries. FETS are for current charged from the motor. And I wouldnt suggest getting an 8-cell its just dead weight, youll have a much more efficient car with a 5 or 6 cell.
