Clubs - Please Read

As of last count, there are 13 clubs in the General XMODS forum.

Some of those clubs are very similar, at the same time, there's even two clubs owned by ONE member.

I've temporarily closed ALL club/team threads until they're ran by and approved.

From now on, there won't be anymore Lancer Club, G35 Club, Mustang Club, Firebird Club, etc.

We do NOT need a separate club for EACH of the bodies that XMODS have made.

Muscle Car Clubs, Crawl Clubs, Drift Clubs are fine. But only one. For example, lets say I created a drift club called "REDfastDRIFT Club", there will be NO OTHER DRIFT CLUBS ALLOWED. We don't need 3 drift clubs involving different things, just one.

What I want each of the club founders to do is send me a PM containing the following:

Username: (club president, owner, founder, whatever)
Club/Team name:
Members: (a number and the name of each member)
Progression: (this is hard to evaluate, but state the typical conversations you're having and the useful/informative replies in ratio to the useless spam posted)

I'll PM the team/club owner after this to talk more about re-opening their club.

Please, no single user shall have more than one club.

NEW RULE:

Anyone who's starting a club should have AT LEAST 250 posts. This is to prevent immature 'kiddies' from starting clubs that would most likely drown itself with immature spamming, flaming and bashing.

as u must know i am founder of team accents and all its divisions and i see nothing wrong with having divisions... they are a part of accents so it is considered one club... since i use a cell phone i do not have a list of members.. i believe coolcar24th does. im willing to go back to it being just simply team ACCENTS with no divisions. it is just a club dedicated to the collectiong of xmods and we will be talking about exactly that.. if there is anything elses i forgot just let me know

My club is based on custom rims and by custom i mean at least the slammed tires or bigger on their xmod.When i can help with a modding question,i point them in the right direction,anyone can join.

Only requirement is to have the Slammed tire and wheel upgrade or larger custom rims on a xmod truck or car.(Dub City Size should be the largest)

I've approved The Crawling Truck Club, Dub Club, Team Evo Drift. Your threads will be opened once the Team Accents dispute has come to a conclusion, just to keep this thread up for organization purposes.

The problem that arises is Team Accents and its divisions. Really, there are no problems with the groups, its just that there are too many of them cluttering the General forums. Its literally overturned the General forums into the Groups forums.

As much as possible, we want to keep the number of groups to a limit of 4 or 5. Otherwise, your group discussions need to be taken elsewhere, for example, your own separate group forum. You can make one for free at ezBoard or Invision proboards.

I'd like the founders of the different divisions of Team Accents to step up and come to a conclusion. Either stick with ONE group thread, or have no group threads on XMS and be forced to create a separate forum out of XMS servers.

I really don't want to have to do this to you guys, you're the most developed group we've got at the moment.

Ok well as President of Team Accents I think we can reduce Team Accents to just one main group. It be easier for us to handle at this point. If we grow bigger we may later on create a forum for it. But since it seems xmods are dying a bit I dont think that will happen. But just to be sure ill have to talk to NS350. Other than that you have my vote.

Uhm... I can't close the other clubs meant for a single specific theme. That would be unfair to the host as well as the members.

Without some kind of a focused purpose, a club will die. You can't start a club "for kicks" and expect it to survive without some kind of focused motivation behind it. If you start a club for all sorts of driving and all sorts of cars/trucks, what difference is there between your club and this forum? I'd take the forum.

Honestly though, you can't pacify anyone by deleting threads. Asking people to take their conversations somewhere else doesn't help too much either, oftentimes club members will further develop any bad habits they've shown in public. If it really bothers you you might as well say "no clubs!" and be done with it. To be blunt, there's no real point to 95% of Xmods clubs...

heres the thing... we try to do ANYTHING, solve any **** issue or problem and the members are instantly on our *****, telling us that we f 'ed up or that we don't know how to do our jobs. Well **** kids, you want us to do something about it, but then you hate when we do. We try to clean up all the BS, flaming and off topic stuff in the club area of the forum and create a format that makes sense and helps keep things under control. Boo hoo, your old "club" got deleted. Big fricken deal, what did you use it for? The only worth in having a club is to organize meets, races, little contests, etc. for the members of that club where they can actually MEET eachother, face to face and take part in an activity together. Yes I do see merit in having a few specified interest clubs on the forum, but we don't need 13 of them. Most of the clubs on here had proven that they weren't worthy of being a club in the first place, immature noobish members should not lead clubs, just as much as they should not moderate.

A while back you members were sick of us mods using our moderating "powers" too much, and so we slow down a little, try to give you the freedom you guys wanted and you go and screw yourselves over and put the forum into this kind of situation again, where action needs to be taken and now you are all gonna ***** and cry about it. We all need to THINK before we SPEAK. We all need to WORK TOGETHER. We all need to STEP BACK, look at the BIG PICTURE, understand our role in that picture, and get to work at being a COMMUNITY where we support one another and build eachother up.

I would like to apologize for my language in this post, but you know what, screw it. I'm being real, I'm gonna tell it like it is. Everyone just needs to chill out for a while, do some thinking and then act in a manner that will be beneficial to the site. Thanks for your fricken cooperation.

I has an idea.

"Hack" the site, delete who you don't want to spam up the boards, and then "fix" the site and start with a nice new sheet of paper. A dirty trick, but it has potential. :)

Getting to work building a supportive community, unfortunately, has to start from the bottom up. It's kinda hard to tear yourself out of the vicious cycle when the cycle isn't even remotely under your control. I don't mean that to rag on you, but the simple fact is that the moderation situation here doesn't have any control at all over the stuff that goes on here. I don't think I've ever said that the moderation here's too strict -- just that it was occasionally misplaced. Here is the opportunity of a forum-time to clear the slate and try rebuilding the community that used to be XMS.

I see value in your point, and if I may, I would like to emphasize the fact that building a supportive community is not about moderators enforcing rules, nor is it about members following rules to the T. A supportive community is built from the cooperation between the members themselves, the moderators themselves, and the members/moderators together. To understand this, to see your role in this community, we ALL (yes you), need to open our eyes, step back and understand where we fit in this forum. Some people can't do this, because they are either obscenely ignorant know-it-alls, or they simply just don't give a crap. Those are the members that get in the way of community, and those are the members that whine and complain while they themselves refuse to see that they too are part of the problem. I don't care what background you have, where you are from, or what you can do with xmods, we all have a responsibility to respect eachother and understand that we are a community that needs to start acting like one.
