one of my favorites is the bugatti veyron 16.4 it has a W16 engine, $35,000 audio system, 260 mph, 1.6 mil, in 12 minutes at full speed the tires would disinagrate, and at 15 minutes at full speed it would run out of gas, it has 2 keys: a regular key for putting out 500hp and a second key for a full 1001hp, oh and btw it has so much balls it has a hp gauge!

Bugatti Veyron is a nice car, but would you really pay $1.5 for a Volkswagon, when you can pay $700,000 (1/2 price), for a car that's 4mph slower?

I want a Koenigsegg CCX:

People get the Bugatti because they know that most people who can afford one will probly get the car that's 1/2 the price. It's all about being unique and its all about status. I personally think the Bugatti is ugly but hey, we all have different tastes.

Here's my fav.

One of them.

If you want me to list them... its gonna be a fairly long list of the cars ranging from the 50s-70s, one of them in the 80s, a couple early 90s, some early 2000s, and I bet most are american, and had 2 letters attached at the head of every single one.

And Id like to nominate 2 favorite motors... Both in which are emissions legal, since they are pro-street motors.

heres the hotrod article
http://www.hotrod.com/projectbuild/hdrp_0607_ls7_pontiac_solstice_road_test/

honestly, i would get the base solstice, and turbo it myself, maybe some nitrous, it would get about 300hp, more than enogh for a -3000 lb car.
http://www.mallettcars.com/solstice_sky_24_sc.htm (slightly more practical, and the tires would last longer)

if i wanted v8 power would just get a zo6, unbelievably sexy car, or drive my dads f250, 7.5 liters of ungodly truck torque!

texan_idiot25
05-20-2007, 02:27 AM
Screw nitrous, just plant a 4.3L Vortec V6 into it. Still relatively small, power hungy, and your not going to find another V6 that will bring loads of torque. And the little thing is still more rev happy than its 350ci derived sibling.

Or just go balls out, and use NRE's 1073hp twin turbo Vortec V6. Not the same 4.3 that in my GMC much any more lol, but its still 4.3L.

If the bottom pick is your truck, if you have not already replace the lower intake gasket, when you do make sure you get the new style steel gasket from felpro. instead of the old plastic style. The plastic ones have a 100% failure rate.

sorry I did not catch the LS7 talk.

Their are some big difference between the LS2 and the LS7, the main difference is the lubrication system.

The LS7 uses a dry sump system(like in a porsche 911). This allows high G's with out oil starvation. Being dry sump it has a different front cover contain tow oils pumps one for the sump the other for the engine. The block has no oil dip stick only the stick in the sump tank. When changing the oil you put in the recommended amount then start the car and top of the system running like you would a automatic transmission.

Their are more differences but this is the main reason a swap is very expensive to do. Also the 500p and 500 torque is nice difference too.

texan_idiot25
05-20-2007, 03:40 PM
Nooo, shelbo you no chevy boy. Its dry sump and pushrods of doooom. What I was refering to was the block, on the differences of the LS2 and LS7.

The main reason above all, is the LS7 costs 13 grand to buy  Ill go grab the Jegs catalog:

http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p316/texanidiot25/lastscan-4.jpg

jimmythekid1
05-20-2007, 03:47 PM
I do think it is a different casting put I do think most of the holes line up, basically it uses the same technology, 12 grand is a good deal if it comes with complete upper end, fuel rails, wiring sensors and outputs, and the lubrication system, pulleys and most of the accessories. Still out of my budget.

Crate motors come with all you need. its ready to drop in pretty much. I believe the ecu is seperate though, and you need the rest of the dry sump system.

Why is it that nobody has ford motors in any record braking cars? NRE makes 2000hp street cars from Chevys motors, the Ultima GTR has a 740hp small block chevy, still no supercharger or turbo and it holds several records, including the 0-100-0. Not to mention all the custom fords... that have a chevy motor. Drag racing as well. Body by ford, heart by chevy :)

OH yeh, Ultima GTR< that car is a favorite! Imagine a go cart, with 740hp, okay.

I think its a money thing they are not willing to go back to scratch and drop the small block sohc they have been using for years in all of their cars.

Chevy was willing to and the LS1 was born with the wicked new intake ports in the heads and now look at the power they are making.

GM had the balls to try something new, now it long past due for ford to follow suit.

PS this is all based on my own opinion, also the reason I won't buy a ford truck it because I think its stupid that you need to remove the cab to do a intake or head gasket.

GM cars have been getting great fuel economy for years, but they are often underrated. For example 3.8L in W bodies and H bodies have been getting 30 MPG before you could spell Honda. The best part you cruising around town in a Park Avenue and not a Honda civic. LOL I'm not sure why the EPA underrates these cars.

I like two cars: the IS300 Lexus and Volkswagon Golf GTI. They have a rad body kit. To my belief, they have incredible suspension. They do, don't they? Or does it depend on how you tuned your car? I don't know, my friend is still teaching me.

So I guess your young? The IS300 handles quite well, a decent V6 as well.

Sweetvette- my dad friend had a car like that except breen with drag racing tires. I got to drive it. Way to much power for me to handle tho.

The fiat's are nice, good little project cars... But were do you find one in the US, or parts for that matter? You can find tonnes of them in Europe, but not here...
