Well, there's a lot of the same questions getting asked, so I'm looking to cut them down.
Q: What is a 5 or 6 cell mod?
A: It is when you add a 1 AAA holder or a 2 AAA holder in series onto you xmod, giving you more voltage and higher speed (you have to obviously fill the holders with the required AAAs). If you cannot solder, you cannot do this mod. Cell refers to a battery.
Q: Which car is best?
A: All of the xmods are exactly the same when it comes to electronics and suspension. The only difference between any of them is that the medium wheelbase cars (NSX, RSX, and the 2004 Mustang body top kit) have a shorter driveshaft and wheelbase, and the longer cars have a longer wheelbase and driveshaft. All RS mods fit all cars, but 180 motors, such as the XMW Stage 11 won't fit the medium cars. If you own an RSX, and you want to put in a 180 motor, you can't.
Q: I just broke a part, I'm just going to throw this out and start again...
A: NEVER DO THAT!!! Every single stock xmod part can be ordered directly from Radio Shack. Check out the Xmod Parts List in this section for more details.
Q: My car started smoking, and it now only goes 2 feet away from the controller. What's wrong?
A: You fried an inductor. Order a PCB assembly from your local RS, and if you can't solder, you can't install it.
Q: What are li-ions, can I install them, and will they fit my car?
A: Li-ions, or Lithium Ions, are batteries rated at 3.6 volts apiece. XMS, as well as many others, makes the kits with batteries. These batteries are AA batteries, but unlike the lithium batteries you see in your local Circuit City, these are rechargable. The only downside with lithiums is that you need to buy a lithium charger, and that they must not go below 3 volts/cell, otherwise they are fried. Quick kits, or kits with battery holders, fit the Civic, Supra, and Skyline, while pro kits, or the kits that hold the batteries on by zipties, fit all cars except the 350Z, which cannot fit li-ions.
Feel free to ask another question that you think should be up here.
