how big those speakers?

my bro has 3 12" subs in his GMC Envoy. o and by the way, i hate avalanches. they are a rip off of the Escalade EXT. You should at least get a cadillac conversion kit and put it on.

edit - other than that, lookin good.

(caddy conversion has grill, headlights, tail lights, front fenders, and other stuff, usually aroun $500-$2000 depending where you look)

its actually the other way around. The avalanche came out before the EXT

#1. they are alpine type E 12s i have a 600W RF amp goin to em, makes ur head go :eyecraz:

#2, Avalanches are the same thing as an EXT with less painted stuff and more bowties, & im gettin the plastics painted before too long

#3 Avalanches are better trucks for a teenager still in highschool

#4 conversions are retarded, if i wanted an EXT i woulda bought one

#5 dont hate, appreciate:lol:

#6 yes that is a 74 VW Thing in the garage, hasnt been run in a while and has become more of a storage bin. still does run tho and is fun to drive:)

also the difference in the Av and the EXT is the front fenders, hood, grille, headlights, foglights, front bumper cover, front supension is higher by 2", complete body side molding, door handles, all the rear plastics (3rd brake light and tailgate handle), tailgate, running boards, rear bumper, roof rack, thats just the oustide...i could go into the packages that come with them, for instance the escalade always has one engine bigger than the Av (my model it was the 6.0 now its the 6.2) so i really dont need to know what the conversion is, thanks tho

actually they are 20's but the sidewall is huge and the truck is bigger so it makes em look small, i know they need to be bigger i want some 22's, if not 24s, that would be baller. and no its kinda hard to be more pimpin than a Rolls

Funny that you don't know that Chevrolet and Cadillac are BOTH under GM and share the same platform. Want to know another fact? Pontiac's Vibe is also Toyota's Matrix.

Make sure you get your information first before making claims like that.

Anyway, noturday, nice truck! What's the dimension on those tires?

yea i did know that, along with GMC, hummer, and pontiac.

and bring the second part up, the Pontiac is worse off then the Escalade/Avalanche, cuz Pontiac and Toyota arent under the same manufacturer.

To be honest I don't like the whole style of the avalanche. Its not a truck, its not a van, its not anything. The box's on them are so small for what most people by trucks for, its impracticle. And the whole fold down your back seat for more room is kinda stupid, why not just make the box bigger and leave my backseat alone :P

But as for the looks, they are nice. but in my books its performance over looks.

Everyone has their likes and dislikes.

Knvicted, please shut-it... Avalanch came 1st, and when the Escalade was redesigned, the EXT came out almost a year later. noturday has it allright on the differences of the Avalanch and EXT.

Platform sharing is not new, but bet you didnt know the Vibe and Voltz are rebadged. Is pontiac worse off? Not at all, its is GM that gave Toyota the playform to use.

And its usability? Well it was aimed for those who wanted the SUV size interior and a usable bed. Unlike the Sprortsac though. And folding down to open the interior made for lots of possibilities for campers and such. Though what seems like a small niche crowd seems to have worked out.

Anyways, Looks great. Those rims are awesome man, not too big either.

haha i like what i have started here

yeah there are avalanche clubs...yes i am in one...that get together in groups of like 30+ AVs and just hang out

my AV isnt really as functional as most avalanches cuz of my sub box but you cant put a box like that in any other vehicle (except the EXT of course) and still have a fully functional truck and no room taken away from the backseat. i can still fit a four wheeler in my bed with the tailgate down, but even if i didnt have the box the 4wheeler wouldnt fit in any further so it all works out, i love my AV.

i went to see my sister at college and a friend of hers gave me a ride in his 05silvy 5.3 with a cam and a tune and a new ecu and full bolt ons and 11" wide rear tires, it was awesome and he told me he smokes ram hemi's all the time, i believe it, it was deffinately fast and we hit about 125 in it down the feeder  it was nice

i got the grille from a local custom shop

i do try to keep my truck lookin clean, and its actually quite tall compared to my old truck, but yes it is pretty low being that is is stock. i want to lift it 4 to 6" and put some 33 or 35" tires on the 20" rims i have now. there are many mods i would like to do but my dad says "stock is the best option".......

#3 Avalanches are better trucks for a teenager still in highschool

1.) Since a High School kid (not his dad..) would have money for a big truck?
2.) You realize how much gas is?
3.) Why a big truck for point A to point B driving like you do for HS?

I understand it being safer if you get in an accident (think size vs a compact), but it rolls...

1.Now I'm in College and travel back and forth about an hr to get to school for the week then i'm usualy home on weekends
2.i never said i bought it
3. yeah it cost me $75 to fill it up about 2 hrs ago
4.the main reason we bought the truck was to have some thing to pull our boat/seadoos out of the water without my dad completely embarassing me by spinning the tires and leaving a huge black mark on the ramp....and someone's got to drive it :D

and i havnt had it roll on me yet and i took a 60-70* turn the other day at 60mph. it hugged the road pretty good. leaned a lot, but hugged none-the-less

I wonder why you never asked me this:

1 Sweed, Im paying for everything with my truck, Jr in High school
2 My truck is far less fuel efficient, but do you realize how CHEAP it is in south Texas?
3 My truck is bigger, and it will be a point A, B, and C truck.
4 His truck has ABS, Traction control, and Stabilitract.... I have 4 wheel drums and a lead foot. Not to mention stock-for-stock, his truck has FAR better handling. Though the design of my truck's rear is better. But currently my truck rides like a boat in rough waters.

looks pretty good man...something i used to like to do was pick up some 1/2" grommets and some colored builbs and put them in my headlights and reverse lights, its really cheap to do and it looks pretty cool...if you're hanging out with ur friends in a parking lot or at a car show just flip em on, they hardly burn and power and they get lots off attention. i used to be the neon light king, my 02 sunifire had 50+ lights total. now its time for some badass looking pedals. :)

thanks guys, i know not a of of people think neons fit on american cars, but i think it fits anywhere. i like it a lot, i've also got a full blue under body neon kit that i have to finish installing (all wiring is done, i just have to mount the tubes) and i'm gonna mount an extra tube behind the powerbar in the grille

i may add more lights later

thanks guys, i know not a of of people think neons fit on american cars, but i think it fits anywhere. i like it a lot, i've also got a full blue under body neon kit that i have to finish installing (all wiring is done, i just have to mount the tubes) and i'm gonna mount an extra tube behind the powerbar in the grille

i may add more lights later

the guy that owns this Av is my "mentor" haha he currently has 504 leds, and 6 strobesin his truck

i'm getting one of those "avalanche" head unit mounts as well, but mine will say it underneath the screen so you will be able to see it when the screen is open :D

i wont have quite as much glow as his truck, but it will definitely look good

Hey, you like I showed you on that evil-*** camaro? If I'm bored enough next week I think I'll play with red in the firebird's lights.

Well, you guys are... ***!!
I like the lights. Put some under the seats as well, and it looks like you're floating. Doing that on my car. Have LED strips lighting the front.

www.tunerdomes.com has LED's in diffrent colors for the dome lights.

I ALMOST bought one of those for my Camaro, but decided I had better things to spend $100 on. They are very cool though, if my car already had the interior the way I wanted it I would get one.

yeah, they're definitely cool, and i only know of one other person with one, but he lives in chicago, so i dont think i'll be seeing anyone else with one of these anytime soon

That's slick man. Who makes these?

I'm gonna have to get a head unit for the Firebird, the radio is dying out (I lost the right speakers last week, and now there's no bass out of the left speakers), and this is a slick looking filler panel.

MAPtech enterprises makes it, the website is http://www.humount.com/ i know they make a firebird/trans am one, but im not sure if it will fit your year model, if it does that would be pretty sweet, sucks that your radio is depleting itself, guess its time for an in-dash screen like mine haha

Time for a C-H-E-A-P one. Reason I don't speed is I can't afford tickets, much less pop-up screens.

make sure the mounting screw holes are the same as well, you dont want to go spending $100 on something that wont mount right, that's for sure

yeah, the front plate is actually aluminum, and you can order them with a brushed aluminum finish, but it costs like $15 more.

i have new nighttime pics too, but i couldnt get a lot of good ones cuz my mom was snooping around...(the parentals do not know that i have under dash neon or that this plate lights up hahaha)

heres what i got though

God invented sheet metal for custom mounting purpose, and I'm sure of this!

Looks good at night... Grab some blue lights for the guage cluster, or grab the Escalade guages. (think that was on your list too, right?)

noturday

either escalade gauges
http://media.automotive.com/evox/stilllib/cadillac/escalade/2006/5od-4/62.jpg

or these gauges
http://images.autoanything.com/images/products/med/dash_trim_kits/us_speedo_ss_gauge_kits.jpg

it depends on which ones i will be able to see the best. right now its hard to see my gauges if its daytime and they are in a shadow....idk
sometimes i can turn on my fog lights (turns on all the instrument lights) and it will be easier to see them, but sometimes even that doesnt help.

either way though, i'm getting the full cluster so i can just plug it in and go. then have the milage reset to where it needs to be at a dealership somewhere

The stock escalade ones... silver faces FTL.

Possibly wire the gauge lights so that they come on with the ignition key. Like everything else in the interior.
