Alright, since I think I've seen more than 3 threads asking pretty much the same questions, I think I'll clarify things up a bit. PN makes **** fine motors, and AM sells them. I can only imagine the countless emails they've gotten asking simply answered questions.

The lingo: BB (ball bearings) aramature (rotating shaft inside motor) brushes (brushes are what connect to the comm and get current into the armature and windings) comm (on the end of the armature, sends current from the batteries into the windings on the armature)

I've rated these motors in my opinion from 1-10

PN Racing Speedy 05 motor:
Does not require upgraded FETs
Uses standard can and brushes
Is SLIGHTLY better than a stage 2 motor
4/10

PN Racing MiniZ MA010 special
Does not require upgraded FETs
Uses standard can and brushes
Is SLIGHTLY better than a stage 2 34,250 RPM @ 6v
(this motor, although it says miniZ will work in an Xmod without any custimization)
4/10

PN Racing Saber modified motor
requires at least a 2x3 stack of FETs or V2.2
Uses a 35t armature
Neo mags
Ball bearings
puts out 38,560rpm @ 6v
5/10

PN Racing SO3 motor
requires at least a 2x3 stack of FETs or V2.2
Uses a 39t armature
ball bearings
Neo magnets
puts out 36,300rpm @ 6v
5/10

PN Racing SO4 motor
Requires at least a 2x3 stack of FETs or a V2.2
Uses a 35t armature
Ball bearings
Neo magnets
a balanced armature
puts out 39,000 RPM @ 6v
6/10

PN Racing Anima motor
Requires at least a 2x3 stack of FETs or a V2.2
Uses a 33t armature
Neo Magnets
ball bearings
balance armature
puts out 37,200 RPM @6v
5/10

PN racing Macho AWD motor
Requires 2x2 stacke FETs
puts out more torque than standard motors and is great for AWDrivers
4/10

More motors:

X-2 lightspeed pro edition
requires Nelly or V2.2
Uses 22g silver wire
Uses larger rotor for more torque
Highest quality Neo Mags
upgraded carbon brushes
ball bearings
prelubed with Tribo comm lube
puts out a whopping 64,045rpm @ 4.8v!
9.5/10

*This motor is ridiculous. Speeds reaching over 50 are just the beginning of the list of pro's of this motor

X-2 lightspeed
requires Nelly or V2.2
Uses a 22g spiral armature
Uses highest quality Neo Mags
carbon brushes (standard)
prelubed with Tribo comm lube
puts out rpm and torque slightly less than the pro edition
9/10

*Another insane motor. This thing could make an RC18t go...

X-1 super speed
uses stock FETs, although stacking is reccomended
Uses a ball bearing can
Uses Neo Mags
Uses performance can and endbell
high conductive carbon brushes
7/10

High standard v3
Does not require upgraded FETs
Silver brushes
Neo mags
performance can and endbell
ball bearings
6/10

RT-1 modified motor
Does not require upgraded FETs
carbon brushes
balanced armature
ball bearings
5/10

RT-2 modified motor
Does not require upgraded FETs
Ball bearings
balanced armature
Neo mags
siver brushes
6/10

Atomic Z2 High Current Motor
requieres upgraded FETs 2x3 or V2.2 or Nelly
balanced armature
Neo Mags
Positive brush is silver, while the negative brush is carbon
open endbell (atomic can)
puts out 48,186 rpm @ 6v
6.5/10 (I believe this is actually a PN motor)

Team Redmade Pro (FET safe)
Does not require modified FETs
Carbon brushes
45t 30awg arm
silver FAT comm
EGR BB can
pre-lubed and broken it for plug and play simplicity.
5.5/10

Team Redmade Pro (non-FET safe)
Requires a 2x2 stack or some sort of external FET board
36t 30awg arm
Silver FAT comm
EGR BB can
pre-lubed and broken in for plug and play simplicity
6/10

Team Redmade Maddness
Requires at least a 2x4 stack or a external FET board
17t 24awg PN racing, pre balanced arm
EGR BB motor can
Highest quality PN racing carbon brushes
Silver FAT comm
High grade silver solder
pre-lubed and pre broken in for plug and play simplicity
8/10

*This motor is similar to the X-2 lightspeed, however, instead of a 12t arm, it utilizes a milder 17t arm. External Turbo Highly reccomended. Litium Ion and Ni-MH batteries may not be able to keep up with this motor, so I advise a Li-po setup. Heat sinds are nearly required on this motor.

Team Redmade Super-Crazy
Nelly Stacked only
17t 24awg PN Racing balanced arm
M1 hobby style enbell with hard springs
carbon brushes
FAT silver comm
pre-lubed and pre-broken in for plug and play simplicity.
9.75/10

*This is one of the most insane motors out there. With the new M1 endbell, it can easily surpass speeds set by standard cased motors. Don't be surprised if you xmod shatters upon impact with this motor. I reccomend GPM highly, becuase 60+ crashes aren't good for plastic.

Team Redmade Tork
requires a 2x2 stack of FETs
180 sized motor
2 sets (4) of Neodiymium motor magnets
EGR syle motor case
3/10 (speed) 9.5/10 (torque)

*explosive acceleration and massive amounts of torque make this the ultimate crawler motor.

Team Redmade Standard
Does not require upgraded FETs
Standard bushing can
45t 30awg arm
pre lubed and pre broken in for plug and play simplicity
4/10

for the Atomic Z2 High Current Motor it says minimun of 2x2 stack

RedSXmodder

Whats your point? You can't have a 2x1 stock setup to run this motor.

i no im just saying you put 2x3 or v2 or nelly but it can run on a 2x2 stack

also for the x-1 super speed you put "uses stock FETs, although stacking is reccomended". For gen 1 its requires a fet upgrade or it will fry the electronics

can i have the link for the
X-2 lightspeed pro edition
and is it better than the T2 and Z2?

X-2 is the fastest brushed motor you could get. Way better then the T2 and Z2. Highly recommended!

is it good with the v2.2? does it heat up really fast with it or not

I believe a V2.2 will not have a chance. You'd need a stacked Nelly or something to that sort.

It is. But a stacked Nelly External Turbo abosolutely blows away every other option out there.
