i just did the 5 cell mod ( cause i used AA so it wont 2 of them), it was fast as hell but the run time is only like 20 minutes, is that normal?

plz tell me how long your xmod runs on 5 or 6 cells

i get 30-35 mins of solid runtime using duracell nimh 1000mah aaa rechargable batteries.. (no mod)

i once tried the old 5/6 cell mod, but what you loose in performance isnt worth the added milli second of speed as far as im concerned.. :P

get some decent batteries..

well i use energizer 900mah, which i think is pretty decent if they are still working as they should, and the AA was a panasonic 2100mah.

what you said about loosing performance with 5/6cell, what do you mean exactly?

He's saying that the added weight offsets the speed gains. (At least that's what most people say.)

I for one can attest to my 7 cell being almost(or just as) as fast as my brothers lithium set up, which he can back me up on.

As far as run times, both my 6 and 7 cell are good for 20-30 minutes. I've never really timed it but it seems that way.

ya i thot the added weight would slow it down but it doesnt at all, in fact the weight actually helps the car to drift

no doubt, it makes the car superfast. but the handling is a bit unpredictable.. turning etc..

but hey, its whatever feels best for you :P

I also have the duracell 1000 mah batts and i found about a 30-40% increase from my old energizers 900 mah batteries when running regular 4 cell. i would reccommend getting the duracell's. when i did the 6 cell it was almost twice as fast as stock

but i wont spend like another 25 bucks on duracell now, cause on xmodsinternational the lith kit with charger is only 30 with no ship and handeling...maybe i should get this one instead of doing the 5/6cell

Losing performance due to weight is virtually non-existent in 5 or 6 cell mods. My friends all have either 5 or 6 cell mods and handling accerlaration are all fine and the car isn't that much heavier (slightly with the 6 cell)

Where the issue of weight and performance comes into play is when people start going 7 or 8 cell....then you might as well just go with liths.

Imo 5 and 6 cell is a great intro mod

As far as battery life....it's not unreasonable for the batts to only last 20 mins or so. 20-30 mins is the most common range that I've heard.

And by the way...adding cells (in series) does nothing for runtime as you can see from the posts above...It only increases the available voltage. Run time is determined by the mah rating of the battery and driving style.

i asked just to make sure i didnt do anything wrong casue the run time used to be like 40 mintues with the 4cell

well if you added 1 aa to 4 aaa the higher mah aa is probably discharging into the aaa's bringing the overall voltage down. All your batteries should match.
