my mom agreed to give me her van, im wonderuing if i should turn it into a beast or sell it for cash. i know where to get everything for the van, but i dont know if i should be fooling with something i might just sell. it is a 1993 murcury villager gs with about 130,000 on it, there is a hole in a pube somewhere in the exaust system, but im gonna put a cat back on it. it has a 4.3 liter v6 under the hood and about 135 h.p. if i do transform it, it will become a breed of urban race vehicle ive never seen on the streets. i prefer this to a import beceause it has a lot of room for NoS, subs, exc. heres a pic of what it looks like(this is not my pic, i dont have a camera)

it would be kind of sweet to have all that stuff in the back but i would prefer a car. Im not so into mini vans. but more into the imports. you should pimp it out and make it a one of a kind. that would be pretty sweet.

yes, correct. Why in the hell are you going to fix up a van for, why not just sale it. I thought you were sponsored anyway?

...also mods, some of my posts have been deleted. I believe three of them since last night, why has this happened, I noticed a few days ago that I had a few deleted? What is the deal?

:***:
im sorry but if i saw thatriding down the road i would laugh at the driver.

mini vans are the ****. if you like it, keep it.
130k isnt really all that much(even for a merc) save all of the money you want to put towards subs and all that junk. put it into an account and buy something that you truly want.
dont worry about what people think about your ride. after all, you have one
reliable transportation is tops. free reliable transportation is even better.
hell you can take your savings and put $1500.00 into the merc and turn around and sell it forabout $6-8,000.00(if the paint and interior is decent)
even if you start at the bottom rung with your "dream car", you still have the car and a bit of cash to throw at it.

my vote:
keep the van, forget adding a pounding system and just keep it running.
save your monees for "your dream car" and then blow your freinds away with your bling.

my camaro is a pile right now but i have about 45% of it brand new and waiting to be installed.
i'm happy driving my peice around as long as i know i got all the parts to make it right.

my grandfather used to tell me,
"Anything Free Is Worth Saving Up For........."

cheers,
bondo

one word....weight. the biggest enemy to a cars performance. Weight. you'll never make a minivan light enough to make it competitive...in the grand scheme of things. there are a few exceptions, but the fact of the matter is, the same power in a lighter car will always be faster.

but, it'll make a good daily driver. so like bondo said, keep it, drive it, take good care of it (so the resale value doesn't die). do some research, save some money, then you can make a smarter decision further down the road. and you'll be happier and smarter for it.

well before i even read any of that i decited to sell it. it has aftermarket goodies like a strut bar, short ram, 3 bozooka tubes and a generic 1200 watt amp. a dude on myspace has a 180sx for sale around $2500 so im gonna ask him why its so cheap. and yea, i do have a aponsor, but they pay for the parts, but i gotta pey for the shiping and handiling and tax exc. i found a couple other cars im going to look into but as soon as i get the car and i feel comfortable with it im gonna swing by turbo-kits.com.i am thinking of going with a green and yelow two tome. but ill be sure to update u guys if anything falls into place. im gonna swing by some used car places around town then go to sound performance to ask em if they have any good deals this week. if anything falls into place, ill tell yall but ill sure keep u updated. laterz!

yes definately take your time and decide on what vehicle you want, dont buy the best deal that you come across, reserach several different cars. MY first car was a 1998 Honda Civic coupe(I still have it), and I bought a 1994 Honda Civic hatchback a year ago. I dumped a lot of money into the 1998 coupe and now I wished I would have bought a hatchback to begin with and dumped my money into that, so goes to show (got a car that looks good, but isnt very fast), research and dont jump into a buy right now!!!:)

your very welcome, research and talking to folks that own a car that you may be intereted in always helps, check out forums too and see what people have to say about certain types of vehicles. Also keep gas mileage in mind on your decision. Good Luck!!!:)

hahahaha, im sorry it might be juvenile of me, but thats a good typo (see bolded in quote). anyways imo, ditch the minivan, theres no point in doing anything to it, come on, its your moms minivan, its an automatic and its got a foot ebrake. how fun is that gonna be?

I still say keep it as a daily driver. it's worth more in time and money saved, than it is in resale value. do some research, find what you want to do, decide what you want out of your car, and save for the right one. don't rush this, trust me.

I wound up with what I wanted, but only by accident. I saved my subarus with the idea of offroading them. and in the process, found that they make mediocre offroaders, and great road cars.....

obviously not everyone is going to be so lucky, so take my advice, and the advice of others, and find what you REALLY want.

also, be careful of the honda craze. they're neat cars, but way overrated. I've only known a few people who have ever driven a real car who goes back to a honda. bottom line, you just can't get a nice torque curve out of a motor that small. there are plenty of cars out there that can compete with a honda in the weight department, but have much more displacement, and better weight balance to boot. unless all you want to do is street race.....in which case, throw a big ugly wing on there, an unpainted body kit, maybe some lights under the body, a cheap exhaust, a cold air intake, some colored spark plug wires, and live up to your screen name.

You could customize a van with the engine in the back and fiber everything else.. Larger engine will haul most any weight faster than a 4cyl.

yea, but a built 4-cyl is going to cost less, and still weigh less, than an all carbon-fibre mini-van. AND still have a lower COG.

besides...who said anything about a 4-cyl. I just said a smaller car.

in fact...that very car would be high on my list (and yes...I know you have one ;) )....although, as far as displacement is concerned....you've only got .3l on my car. lol.

anything with an aluminum block and tranny, and a small, light body.

The only kind of van I've ever seen muscle is a chevy astro and the one I'm thinking of was modified to fit the engine in the back so it could drag race.
Your van would look like crap and like someone said before, I thought your sponsored... We haven't seen any pics of your sponsored cars or anything of the sort, so a van just seems peculiar for someone that's supposedly "sponsored" and has pics of a van and not a car lol.

ive decided to go wither honda or toyota, but i got this on the van. 187(after mods) horse power at 4800 r.p.m. with 167 ft-lbs of torque. 3782 lbs curb weight. mine has a 4-speed 3.0L SOHC 12 vaulve - 6 cylinder. 20 gallon tank 17 city 23 highway. i upgraded to a mp3/cd/i-pod deck. i have 4 12's in the back and a f1 sub. im gonna upgrade to civic, teg, del sol, accord, 180sx, or a 300z. i got the blue book value at $286.78. lmao, aparently i did it wrong. ill do it again and post the value to keep u guys updated.

That's because it's RWD! :p I like that ford aerostar though. Looks neat!

But if you're going to modify your shag-van  with the likes of what the other guys are saying, you could probably have saved up enough money for a brand new Mazda 3 or 6.

I'd say run it and save money. Then once you have money saved for a car you want, buy it, sell the van and use the leftover/saved money for gas and mods.

well i also have a 87 nissan puckup and an 87 vuick lesabre custom. im gonna sell both of those to get money for a used car. they are both modded and in ecelent condition. one day i got home and someone had taken my hood and my k20 out of my civic, so that was a no go. i have pics of that before i sold it, but idk if anyone wants me to post em. im thinkin i can get an easy 10 grand out of the truck and car, then see my options, if u want me to post the pics of the civic, just tell me the word.

i got the nissan up on 24"s and a 475 mopar b-block in it with a cutom exaust, over all its about 4 inches off the ground with the air bags empty. the truck was built up by me and my grandpa, and the buick its in exelent condision, no rust, rips, or dents. we got that on konig racing wheels(idk what type they are), but we got suicide doors and a couple amps and a sub in that. that would be an easy 10 grand right?

Giant rims are so useless and impractical it makes me sick to my stomach. 17" rims on cars should be max MAYBE 18"....when you get bigger than that you eat up tires like nobodys business.
