I read a few tutorials on the spinbrush motor mags so I thought looks easy enough I did everything as it said and I am at the point to where I put the u clip back in and for some reason after several times of repeatedly putting it in to try to get the magnets to line up right I put the end back on the motor and for some reason it wont line up right and the whole piece inside the motor with the pinion attached to it slides in and out and has play. What did I do wrong?

what you did was mess up the frield of magnitivity in the case. There is no way i know how to fix that one, your on you're own. You might be able to polish everything, and glue the magnets, but i'm not sure that'll work: just buy neomags(you can find them at www.xmodcorner.com and for a B.B. case go to www.preformancexmods.com )

Are you sliding in the wedge thing or the endbell?

is the wedge thing your talking about a little copper looking round thing with a lip around it? I found a piece but I wasnt sure if it came out of the sb motor or the xmod motor

Is it attached to the white part?

THE ARMUTURE IS SLIDING OUT. IT CAME OUT OF CONTACT WITH THE MAGNETS. YOU HAVE TO PUT THE ARMUTURE JUST RIGHT FOR IT TO GET INTO THE MAGNETS FIELD!

you put the magnets in wrong
if there in there correctly they'll pull the armeture into the case

i did not put the magnets in wrong. you guys are not understanding my question. I went an rechecked what i was doing and the little piece came off the end that goes into the circle part of the cap past the brushes and that was all that was wrong. The caps did pull itself in and the motor runs perfect

I have done some more research and before I go ordering I want to get this right. If I want a good motor that has high rpm's without the loss of my torque I can get the bb cans and the neo mags and then lets say I wrapped my motor, what would be a suggested gauge size for the wire and the number of turns? also the car I am putting this on will have a fet upgrade and 2 li-ions. I just dont want to fry my motor or my electronics

viperdout

Well, the number of turns can vary greatly on gauge size. You are correct, as to neo mags will give a high-rpm motor torque. Your might find this thread of interest: http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15428

Also, I've heard that making small holes in the arm allows it to spin faster, yet draw the same amount. That might be worth looking into.

All I managed to get at the moment is 20g copper wire do I wind the motor clockwise or counter clockwise? Also how can I tell the amperage? I thought about using a meter but all that tells me is the AC and DC not the amperage is there a certain formula you use? and also what is the maximum amps you can run through a xmod before frying it ?
