so, this last weekend was he second annual MNsubaru ice race event. we go way up north, set up a course, and drive on it all weekend. last year, someone was kind enough to time our laps for comparison, but due to some drama, that didn't happen this year.

anyway....some sweet pics of my wagon sideways.

had an awesome time....but found out that the RX tranny is overrated for an EJ-swapped car. locked center diff yielded no advantage over the EJ viscous center. and with the torque of he EJ22, lo-range was pointless....

but we had an awesome time anyway!

Looks like you had a LOT of fun! What wheels are those on your wagon? They look a lot like the ones I used to have on my Nissan!

^^ lol, it's only a '92....

the wheels are just stock wheel covers. I've got some neat steelies under there, but the wheel covers keep the snow out. alot of the guys with bit open-spoked alloys were having problems with stuff freezing to the inside of their rims and causing vibrations.

yes, it's on a lake. we'd set up a course in the mornings, and run it all day. alot like autocross, but on the lake. and with snow tires instead of slicks...

normally its between 1 1/2 to 4 feet thick in the middle of winter and it olny takes 8 inches for a full size truck.

Thats kinda scary knowing some trucks fell through.

I was watching the discovery channel once and they talked about the trucks going across lake and they showed trucks falling through and some that made it

we went out with a ice fishing auger and measured 14" in the middle of the bay. and almost 20" near the shore. he was out with a 3/4 ton 4x4 chevy pickup plowing the course on the first day. I wasn't really worried about my little 2500 lb wagon.

yea, it's pretty much the most fun you can have on 4 wheels. you don't know the meaning of the phrase car control until you get it sideways going into a hairpin turn on ice, and make it
