I was thinking about doing something like this (but not as ugly) to my BMW. I allready have some plans for custom mounts and re-enforcements for engine and tranny. My dad was also telling me about a BMW in Germany with a large Ford engine in it and the blower sticking out of the hood. I'd just like to hide everything including the sounds to make a sleeper beast that will eat most of anything on the streets.

So much stuff needs to be done though.. if you have any sugestions or tips put them here, i would love help from guys who know what they are talking about.

i dont think you should put a blower on it. BMWs werent made to look like muscle cars. if your going for quite you might want to get a custom made exhaust tip that is really small. and to get fast speeds your engine will be loud. i know of no way to quiet the engine without losing horsepower and torque.

don't need a small exhaust tip to make it quiet. that would just restrict flow. just have to find the right combination of mufflers (probably more than one. maybe even put a glasspack in there too) to get a nice quiet sound.

I don't see the point. I love making cars into something they weren't intended to be, but just dropping a 350 in it....I just don't see why. BMW made all sorts of awesome motors, namely that 3.0l straight 6 *droools*

2 words, aluminum block. can't get no 350 with that, they're all cast iron....holy nose heavy monster. which will totally take away the amazing handling characteristics of the BMW.

i cant agree enough but the 350SB is WAAAAY cheaper/easier to buy and and improve.
though you will have a bit of trouble getting a 350sb in there w/o moving the mounts, changing the trans/drivetrain,all of your elecs,heating/cooling,emissions,engine cooling.

yea....initial purchase cost will be less. but the cost of getting it in, running, and keeping it running are going to add up fast.

I allready have plans made on where the custom mounts would go... There's no way i am putting a blower on it.. looks retarded. I've got about $1,200 saved, and I might start early spring depending if I get my new job at the Airport! :D

haha, coming from the guy talking about swapping a V8 into a 320....

if you want the power, but keep the mileage. slap an Eaton M62 supercharger on there from a Mercedes 2.3l Kompressor motor. depending on the crank size, you'd probably get ~5-7psi of boost with it on. but it's got an electromagnetic clutch in the pulley, so when it's not engaged, the car runs exactly like N/A.
