Well, since the focus is no longer, I decided to turn my attention back to the origional shell that came with the car.
I'm waiting for my lithium-ion kit , carbon fiber chassis, and other parts to come in, so I thought I'd add some lights, alloy wheel locks, and clean her up a bit.

The paint is actually Testors spray. After sanding and priming the parts, I laid down 2 coats of gold metallic, and topped it off with the 4 coats of the Candy.
I paint all the parts seperately. It comes out better and you don't have to worry about the paint chipping.

Not sure how 6 cells would fit, I'm going with the li-ion kit instead of adding cells.

I actually have another body that I run with. I can't justify messing this one up since the paint alone took almost a week to do.

I don't let the first coat sit for more than 15 to 20 min. I always recoat within that time period. Whether you are using acrylic or lacquer/clearcoat, you always want to recoat within that time frame

That car is very nice...VERY nice paint...How 6Cells fit in the skies?

When my sky was on 6 cells, I dremelled the center bumper post off and shave the 2 side ones a bit. It's a tight squeeze, but it works.

random dumb question

do u absolutely hav to primer ur car even when ur spraying over the stock xmod body color,whatever that mey be depending on what car u hav, or is priming the body 1st no matter what the original color just highly recogmended

Believe it or not, Testors spray...... Take your time, and it comes out pretty good. My airbrush crapped out, so it was a desperation move. I'd use it again in a heartbeat. :D

I have the orange that would match perfectly, as far as the graphics, I would look for a F&F model with the decals already in it. Kinda sucks to buy a model for just the decals, but they'd work really well.
