Hello people, im pretty new to the forum, but not to xmods, or Real autos... Here is my ride, a 1995 Ford Taurus SHO it currently is not running due to the transmission differential pin failure (common problem, completely destroying the tranny) the work that I have done to it is in my sig.

It is a very comfortable, luxurious car. When it debuted in 1989, it was said to be ford's answer to the european market (BMW, Mercedes, Audi) it is also a pretty rare option for the taurus (the SHO is hardly considered a taurus, other than looks)

see thats kinda why i like it, its still a sporty car, even though it was used to compete with BMW in luxury, it will still take out a mustang on the highway

Im not talking like saleens or rousch stangs, just like GTs... there actually is a forum that i am a member of with many supercharged and turbocharged SHO's and one guy in particular claims wins against vettes and vipers...

I wouldn't have belived it either, until i rode in a buddy of mine's... then i had to have one for myself, theyre quite the sleepers, ive had people in like v6 camaros tell me they dont even want to waste their gas :roll_eye:

no actually SHO's are not supercharged... (thats a common misconception) they are 3.0L V6s motors built entirely yamaha (revs like a motorcycle) . they have a secondary intake system that opens up addtional passages in the plenum (intake manifold) around 4k rpms with a redline at 7500. some people like to add turbochargers or superchargers, but those definately are the crazy enthusiasts

crazy because there is only so much you can do with a fwd 3000 pound brick... the highest i have seen a SHO pull on street tires currently is a 12.8 1/4 mile probabaly because traction is a huge issue with these cars and adding a supercharger with N2O only makes matters worse... thats why you wont see too many with super fast 1/4 times, however the gear ratios and powerband of the car is very beneificial for highway and "from a roll" racing... plus they have one of the flattest torque curves i have ever seen (meaning the 210 ft/lbs is pretty much the same across the whole rpm range)
