i love the noise that the intake makes

Intercoolers make no noise, and the intake does not make noise either. Turboes and superchargers make noise when spooling up, which can be characterized as a whine on a roots-type s/c, or on a centrifical s/c or turbo, it's more of a high-pitched whoosh. If you're thinking of a "pfft" sound, that is from a Blow-Off Valve, which bleeds off air pressure when shifting so the turbo doesn't slow down.

duh the intercooler is just there to keep the turbo cool and give a better top hp that's Horse power for those who don't know what that means also the turbo whines while a supercharger has a whisle to it but listen to Viper he knows more then I do or does he

Viperdout.... your wrong a intake deff does make noise... the intercooler wont make and noise..... the turbo charger also makes noise when it winds up... a whistle... then of course you can have you BOV(blow off valve) but a intake will deff make noise no matter what!

The intercooler cools air coming into the intake for a denser charge cooler air makes more power,it also extends turbo life.Turbo's make noise intakes do not bov's do whisle. The reason I know this is because I own 88 Daytina Pacifica t1 awsome cars.If you have any doubt check out Turbo Dodge.com. :D

OK turbos and blowers both work by spinning an Impeler and forcing air in to the intake plenum. Since blower and turbos do "work" by spinning a stuffing air into the intake some of this "work" is lost as heat. The intercooler is added on to these systems to cool the air that is being stuffed in to the intake plenum engines like cool air. They are usally water cooled too, they also work to keep the turbo of blower cool too so they will last longer.
In a nut shell they are like a radiator on a car but just for the boost system.Like radiators they make little noise.
Intakes don't make noise but hte engine does suck vaccum from the throttle and you can here vacum when the intake snorkal is removed. So techniacal the engine makes the noise not the intake.

My intercooler made my turbo spoolup sound different. Of course, the intercooler itself isn't making noise but you can hear the difference in the sound of the compressed air passing through the turbosystem.

while the info is great, please check the time stamp on the post before yours, almost 6 years old.
