looks sweet!!

I hate to burst your bubble....but that's the kind of car a guy works his entire life to get (if not, I hate you already :o ), I doubt he's just going to give it to you. maybe he'll put it in his will, but that's about the closest you're gonna get.

nsxdude10193
06-23-2006, 12:33 PM
no he told me he would give it to me when i get older...i thought he was kidding...but he wasn't

when i get older...

case in point. how old are you now?

I'll have my first car to have more than 100hp finished here in a couple weeks, and I'll be 21 the end of July. I'll tell you right now, there is NO person under 25 that is responsible enough to have more than a few hundred hp, myself included!

if you do get it, don't ever wreck it. you'll make your dad look like a total moron

no, I'm not jealous. I have no interest in actually owning anything like that. I have enough trouble keeping my 20 year old, 91 crank hp, 4WD station wagon under the speed limit. I also have no interest in drag racing. nor do I want a show car.

BlackSky909
06-24-2006, 03:11 PM
I would keep it in my garage and crank it up every once and awhile and once I get enough balls to drive it I will.

nsxdude10193
06-24-2006, 04:13 PM
well basically it is a show car...a joy to have...he will be getting his old antique plate renewed this summer and finish up the project with a few thousand more dollars...his license plate said "FATBOY"

At the momment i am 13... thats why i said in a couple of years when i get older

got any prove of the 8.56 because this one supra is about 850 rwhp..and it run about 9 high! with slick! and a supra in texas is about 1100rwhp only run 8 low....and how the hell your american muscle run that fast if it only have about 700rwhp? can you show us a prove of your car running that fast?

kigamkcalb17
06-24-2006, 04:34 PM
maybe he knows how to drive it, i personally wouldnt want it im not an old hot rod guy, but if he gives this to you before you turn 25 he doesnt like you cause youll kill yourself in it, i dont care how responsible you think you are youll wanna push it once

skylineRB26
06-24-2006, 04:39 PM
but just to tell you man! no prove no beleave! i could say that my car run about 7 second at 1/4 mile and trying to make people beleave! PSHHHhH!

Numbchux
06-24-2006, 06:10 PM
Hey, I think it's cool. and could very well run an 8.56 with a good driver. Supra's are amazing, they can put out amazing hp numbers, and handler really well, and still be strangely slow on the strip.

look man, I don't want to insult you or anything, but seriously, when you're older will probably mean about 30

kigamkcalb17
06-24-2006, 06:32 PM
yea older an wise enough to not kill yourself still a nice car if it was mine though it would be flat black with red a yellow flames an the big chrome hubcap RAT ROD style boy

nsxdude10193
06-24-2006, 06:53 PM
its not the horse power that does all the work you know... it has extreme weight reduction on it...anyways stock that car weight about 2800 pounds...now it weighs about 2000 pounds...big difference in muscle...and i'm sure the supras are fast...but most of them need spray to get that fast...most of them anyways...but i don't care if you don't believe me...my dad is a really good driver...been drag racing muscle cars since he got his license and he knows how to handle it right...i don't car what you think...because i know the truth...he needs to get it dyno tested so i can give you all the statistics

nsxdude10193
06-24-2006, 06:57 PM
oh and btw...supras run that high of times also compared to american muscle because they have those little tiny engines in them that are suped up with turbo and stuff...anyways big blocks already put out A LOT of horse power when they are untuned.

BlackSky909
06-24-2006, 10:54 PM
It hasnt been dynoed and you told us how many HP? What is that a rough estimate.. It can be off by a mile.

pittbull988
06-25-2006, 12:10 AM
well one reason is that it probaly has a powerglide tranny in it so its probaly a 2 speed and i bet that car launches like a bat out of hell..and its a good guess that it had slicks and those tires look awfully wide so not really problems with traction..thats pretty much all i can think of now

06-25-2006, 02:30 AM
thats preety sweet

nsxdude10193

I know the horse power because his friend and him built the motor

is it a 2 bolt or 4 bolt main?

nsxdude10193
06-25-2006, 08:19 PM
its a 4 bolt main

texan_idiot25
06-25-2006, 08:37 PM
that thing is sweeeet.

another reason hotrods dont need as much power, is that they have more lowend torque than tuners. pushrod engines have great lowend. they also dont have to deal with turbos spooling/lagging. you can have a 500 hp doing 9's if set up right. a big block v-8 is like having about 3 civic engines when u think about it. plus room for tires, and if its a 2 speed power glide and ur set.:eyecraz:

RodsRUs
06-25-2006, 08:52 PM
its nice but I dought 8's by far on 700Hp Im saying more like high 9's
lets see a time slip

texan_idiot25
06-25-2006, 09:01 PM
its possible, seen it on speed channel yesterday, forgot which class of drag (sportsman maybe?) they were runnin about 600 and in the 8's

RodsRUs
06-25-2006, 09:16 PM
thats a pro car with 70+ grand into it I have a 68 camaro with a 409 (stroked and bored so more like a 440+) and its pushing about 800+ hp mated with a 4 speed rock crusher M22 and my dads pulling SUPER low 9's Really high 8's and my dads been draging for 30 yrs or more..so no driver errior...

texan_idiot25
06-25-2006, 09:21 PM
yeh, im sure ur not runnin a stripped interior. ive seen ur camaro, looks sweet, the cowl is a lil huge, but looks mean. what rims are those?

RodsRUs
06-25-2006, 09:35 PM
the cowel is needed..
we are'nt running the same intake as is in the picture were runing an single runner (so one huge runner for each intake port) high rise..
and the rims are "Retro" from center line but were now running a set of real magnesium rims from the 60's or 70's that some old guy still had in the box never mounted..which are WAY cooler
Yupp full OG interior except for a full hide away rollcage and notches out of the bottom of the back bench seat had to be cut for the frame connectors which are resessed into the floor

texan_idiot25
06-25-2006, 09:38 PM
i see, i like the rims alot, might use them on my in-the-plans street truck, thanks for the info.

lol, un opened from the 70/80s? man, they the ones like kreeger style? good ol mags

RodsRUs
06-25-2006, 09:51 PM
yeah like torque thrust series from them
their actually illegl because if I blow I tire and the magnesium scraped the ground they will turn to dust before I would even know what happened..and they shatter WAY to easly lol

nsxdude10193
06-25-2006, 09:57 PM
well the back tires are "tubbed" out if you know what i mean..if you don't that means they are basically double the size of the front....last summer he did a burnout in the driveway....and we got the cops called on us by 4 different neighbors

Numbchux
06-25-2006, 11:38 PM
tubbed refers to the body and not the tire directly. when you tub the rear end, you shorten the rear axle, redo the inner wheel wells to make them wider, and move the spring/shock mounts inward. all of this is done to fit wider rear tires, but not to the tires themselves.

nsxdude10193
06-25-2006, 11:49 PM
well...i'm just sayin when your reffering directly to the rear tiere themselves

texan_idiot25
06-26-2006, 05:09 PM
tubbed means the wheel wells, not the axle nessacarily. u can use wheels with a further inset and not have to shortin the axle width.

yep, sorry, I said it wrong....however, more radical tub-jobs involve shorter axle.

I'm sure that street rods weighs alot less then superas, and it is a push rod engine so the power band is at a lower rpm. The superas are striaght DOHC so they neeed to be reved up to get in thier power band.

texan_idiot25
06-27-2006, 07:50 AM
and thier relying on turbos ;)

also why it has to be reved up to get a decent launch.

ha, supras are about 3,700 stock the average street rod is around 3,100. depending on how you build the chassis. but i could be wrong.

thats a nice car. my dad has a 1973 mach 1 mustang 1 owner, its got a 349 stroker it puts out like 450hp i think, but thats not at the rear wheels, i also got a 1979 trans am that im restoring, if you ever want to see any pics then email me.

yeh, i dont remember reading that, we went from wheel tubs to turbos lol.

u cant claim that the supra is light than his chevy, u have no idea its wieght. and even then, a supra is a consumer car, yes i dare say, CONSUMER CAR. the rod is a striped as u can get to begin with, they didnt have much from the factory in the 30's.

agreed, I would also say a supra is even on the heavy side.

thats the information I found on a supra forum for 86-92 with turbo. Food for thought my budds twin turbo, AWD AWS steath weighs over 4000.
