range inductors and tight turns

ok i know that with tight turns u can change the the little tiny black resistors on the board @ 4.7 k ohms right now there is another mod for tight turns and it has to do with putting colour coded resistors on the brown and other colur wire there is a tut here some where but my question is is one mod better that the other and it is easier to go with cutting a wire and putting the resistor on the wires. now are they @ 4.7 k ohms too



now for the range inductors if yu are upgrading to get more range what kohms value should the new( better) ones be any info on this would be great thanks alot in advance
