umm, it ranges from 80 to 1000..or even 2000....depending on what you are
doing....80 grid for grinding paint off...400 to smoth it out before first paint
1000 for in between coats...to make it a smooth clean car....

ya you can get fine grit sand paper at any auto parts store like pep boyz and **** like that
and 80 grit?? no man I think thats too rough to get paint to stick to you xmod and a good surface more like 100-120 is better

i use 80 to get paint off....cuase im too lazy to go buy brake fuil and watch it
every 30 minutes.... before first primer..i use like...430 grit...then 1000 in
between paints of coat... i usually get my paper from walmart, and the fine
ones from hobby store...or save ons...lol... they have sandpaper on plastic
papers

ya I know why you use the 80 but its not needed you take too much material off when you use such a low grit and you get high and low spots

i see what you mean...but i like to get everything off the car.....every litle
paint that might get in the way of the new paintjob....make it naked basicaly.
once i get a good amout off, i start using the low grit to get the paint that
still there.... and i need to take a lot of stuff off....since i usually have like..7
layers on the car....so i use a low grid to get to like...the frist layer, then
use the high grid to get to the base plastic thinga mabob
