So this is my latest purchase:

You might recognize it as being the XL5 Donziikid has had up for sale for quite some time and you would be right, I have been interested in it since he original posted it up for sale but unfortunately due to the crappy economy I wasn't able to jump on it, however a few weeks back he made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I borrowed some money from the wife (:() and snapped it up, now I just need to pay her back so I can say that it's actually mine :)

I need to get the exact list of upgrades from Donziikid but here is what I know so far:

BOCA rubber sealed bearings.
RPM Bearing Carriers front & rear.
Epic 17T motor.
30WT Shock Oil.
MIP Shiny CVD kit.
Futaba S3003 steering servo.
Dean's Ultra Connections.

I'm running a Venom 3000nimh pack in it right now but want to get new packs for both this and my TT-01 so hopefully those will be purchased in the next few weeks.

Here it is next to the TT-01, same scale but noticeable difference between a monster truck and a drift car :)

It has only been driven in doors so far but it's a blast, I have made one modification that should make it a little more enjoyable when I finally run it outdoors, can you guess what it is:

Enjoy!

lol thanks... whilst it doesn't hold her interest as much as it does mine she will actually drive an RC around with me, I have a custom Pink ProPulse that I worked on with Zippo as a birthday present for her, I don't think I ever posted up pictures of it but it has a pink body shell, dual motors plus a few other upgrades on it, if we are going out for a family picnic I usually take them along and we blast them around for an hour or so.

As for the Stampede and my plans for it... well at this point I don't really know, I don't want to dump a ton of cash into it but I have seen some really nice after market chassis kits including a 1/8 alloy conversion that interest me, doubt I will go brushless but we shall see.

Possible chassis upgrades:

Nope just came with them on it like that and I haven't swapped them around yet :)

Currently struggling with the ESC and getting the truck to understand which way is forward :) but I'll swap them round at some point....

OK so this is a little confusing and maybe by re-programming the ESC I messed up how Donziikid had the truck setup but my opinion the motors leads had been soldered on backwards....

This is kind of hard to explain so hopefully to simplify:

I put the ESC into race mode so 100% throttle, 100% braking, 0% reverse

I had the TX setup as per the defaults

I pulled the trigger and the ESC lights up but the truck does not move indicating to me that the brake is fully on, I figure OK my channel 2 is reversed so I push the trigger and the truck moves backwards.

Still with me...

I changed the channel 2 toggle switch and repeated the test, pulling the trigger the car moves backwards, pushing the trigger the break comes on

Again in my opinion the motor wires needed to be switched around as forwards was backwards but backwards wasn't reverse... if that makes any sense, since doing that the truck operates as I would expect :)

Now it appears as though both my SubC packs are toast so not sure how much use I'll get before having to buy new ones :(

Well it looks like the rain finally hit us so I may not be able to get the Stampede outside tonight, also I'm having major issues with my battery packs, looks like one has 1 dead cell and the second has 4 :( so more power will be needed but anyways I took the truck on a quick kitchen tour with the camera turned on:

The video camera is the cheapest of the crappiest around... it came free, it's worth 30$ it has less an megapixel of power but I think outdoors in sunlight it will work ok :)

Still need to order a replacement battery so I can get some use out of the Pede but here are a few updates showing the mounted video camera and the relocated BEC battery pack.

I've also made myself 4 quick pull tabs for the body clips, they aren't pictured but look pretty darn good :)

Figured I would share a quick update with everyone :)

Custom F-350 XLT SuperDuty body for the Stampede with an F-150 Raptor / Baja inspired paint job:

I need to finish up the sanding and clear coating then work on the body height and positioning but so far I haven't seen anyone else rocking an F-350 :)

Did some more work on the body, still needs a bit of wet sanding and final clear coating but it's getting there.

Still not completely happy with the height of the body, think I'll move it forwards a little and lower it some more....
