Body Clips+washing machine=rust?

idk.. it was in my pocket.. went into the washing machine.. and now its all rusty? has this ever happened? ive left otehr body clips.. none have rusted

might just be the materail it was made from differnet metals will rust others wont and the project looks like a civic with challenger mirrors

black iron clips will rust like that. what ever pocket it came out of be sure to rinse it out and rewash it otherwise your going to risk having the rust damage the material in the pocket. even stainless steel will rust, well mino surface rust, if left with water on it for an extended period of time. only difference is the rust will wipe off the stainless steel easy. black iron, not so much.
