Hey guys guess what i got :D :D :D
I got it in today :D only part that got here in time were the threaded axles, other stuff should be coming in friday(its coming from hong kong)
i loosened teh tranny screws for some clearance(it was tooo tight and was creating slight binding, but my diff didnt seem like it needed shimming :D
pix :D
luckily the threaded axles came with red nuts(the nut color was chosen randomly by them)

Hi! Lets ramp stuff!

mycrors4

well the batt only lasted for roughly a good 6 minutes, cause the bearings and bushings in the tranny arnt the BEST, but i have ordered a metal tranny with bearings and a set of shielded metal bearings, im sure that'll bump the time up to like 10+ minutes for driving
you got the ramps? ill give it a go

I have a makeshift ramp that is actually a wine glass box from christmas. I'll ramp tomorrow and take pictures for this thread!

im using my ghetto method of making ramps out of xmod AWD kit boxes and masking tap to make some, or i can just cut up some cardboard and use it
i love the 20in/10min charge/drive ratio, sooooooo much better than 45min/13 min drive ratio on my rc18

i know, so much faster than the stock xmods, its amazing, got a small vid of it, i think something in the tranny is too tight, but not sure, here you go :D

The Micro-T is the reason I no longer have Xmods. I have just Mini-Zs a micro chopper and my Micro-DT.

I only used Xmods to drive outside for some fun, now with my micro-desert truck the xmods seem kind of boring. I like to ramp my Micro-dt a lot.

I just ordered some sweet wheels for mine JUST now!

i dont need rims(yet), but i was looking for on-road tires(pin tires wear out too fast)

Well I've found it hard to get traction around the house. Also they are a little bigger.

yea since i only have wood, marble, and some pretty thin carpet, my tractions is either very good or kinda bad,
if u spary a little bit of winder on ur tires, it gives a bit more traction, and kinda cleans ur floors :D

Looks great! Mycrors4 unless I haven't checked the parts recently, there are no bearings in the tranny stock unless otherwise purchased for these lil buggers. Also if you decide to go BL/LiPo, be aware you will go through transmissions like nothing, I am already onto my 5th one

Agreed, but I LOOOVe my xmods for chopping up and modding. They are the best for that due to low cost. I have a micro-t and a DT, and they are awsome. First 2 upgrades... Threaded axle stubs, and ditch the crappy battery set-up for lipo or better nimh w/ higher mah.. Those 2 upgrades are a must. Micro-t definately is the funnest micro out there in my opinion.

This is where you and I differ, even in our services.

I don't care for modding and chopping all that much. I like to race competitively. My electronic services skill has developed for me to mod my racecars and friends racecars to be faster around a track.

hehe! god dangit im smart, u know those "magnetics" from a couple years back? well i got the boxes of those(took out the magnets) and i made it into a mini ramp:D took a small vid, didnt have a tri-pod so i used my backpack as the camera stand(thats why its taken sideways)
P.S. im not the best driver with rubber tires and a carpet lmao, not the best jumper either

now.. where do the 2 bigger oens go?!?!?! i cant figure it out
did a small photoshoot with the titan and micro, the vid is not with the bearings
added the medium hardness springs from the x-truck suspension kit to the rear, sits a bit lower now(cause its a shorter spring), sits leveled to the front :D

Looks great! Tech deck ramps also do good and "cardboard tech deck ramps" do good, go on instructables.com and look around on there, some pretty good tips for the cardboard ramps. You beat me to the bearings and I've got BL/LiPo

When you go out looking for them, be sure to hit the clearance isle at Wal-Mart. The one in my town had a few different Tech Deck ramps left over from Christmas that didn't make it off the shelves. They may not have and left on clearance, but I thought I would mention it anyway! :)

I think those bigger ones go into the tranny, more specifically for the diffs.

dang, i paid for nothing, my diff already has bearings :(
oh well, nothing bad with having spares...

We don't differ in that respect, I love racing as much as the next guy (Although Im still a bit on the week side) and I have a a few MR02's, MA010's and 2 MRCG's that I use for that. But I also like modding, and building my own custom builds and chop shopping. Xmods are good for that side of my hobby because they are cheap and I would never chop up a Mini-Z...

update :D
got the gearbox in, looks awesome
let the pix speak for themselves, for the spur gear, the shaft now uses ball bearings rather than brass bushing(forgot to take a pix of the bearing, was too excited)
sorry they kinda shiny :D, i am not liable for eye damage rofl

got a small problem, for the bigger pinion gear, i have pushed it as far away as possible from the spur, but it sounds like it is binding, but it doesnt seem like it is, is this normal for an unused pinion?

Hmm... Maybe its from inside the gearbox? I'd say loosen up the gearbox a bit and see if that makes a difference.

Have you tried loosening up the spur gear?... (I'm just throwing random ideas out...)

When did this start happening?

mycrors4
02-05-2010, 08:30 PM
yea i have, i put on the pinion like 2 or 3 hours ago, then i had to go, then i came back, charged it, started driving, and it was like that, i cant move it closer cause then its too tight and it REALLY binds
