My wires connected to the battery pack had broken off, so i was trying to electrc tape them temporarily to the pack. I made the mistake of leaving the batteries in in the process. The car was turned off, but right when the wire touched the pack smoke started billowing out from under the car! :o I think i fried something in the chip because now i resolderd the wire back on and when i pull the trigger the wheels start driving :D then stop  then start again :D then stop  . DOes anyone know where to get a replacement chip so i dont have to buy a new car??? :-? Is there anything else that could be wrong with the car? I tried different batteries. Thnx.

Your best bet is to take the car apart. My bet is that by the left screw hole (from a top view, front facing away), there's burn marks. You fried your board. Buy a PCB assembly reciever at RS. The part number is in the parts list in general discussion.

It is possible that the board itself fried, and the reciever board might not do the trick. BTW, if it does not run at all, it is not the reciever board.

If you go on atomic mods .com, you can find replacement chips, servos, and electronics               :roll_eye: :roll_eye: :roll_eye: :roll_eye: :roll_eye: :roll_eye: :roll_eye: :roll_eye: :roll_eye: :roll_eye:

Don't go to Atomic Mods for a new board. You can order all those perts from RS, but you will need to solder them together. If you can't solder, I can do it for a significantly lower fee.

The reciever assembly is the entire ESC, sans the servo.

the implication in a previous post was that the reciever assembly was only the antenna board, not the entire ESC.

Actually, it wasn't, since I mentionned PARTS and SOLDERING.

Way overpriced=money hungry=a ***. Just ask this place or viperdout to do it!
And at some places they give you a good motor and a boards with upgraded FETs for about $60-70 called the mighty mods blaster kit. at www.mightymods.com

Hope this helped-SPITFIREV12RR
