Really nice collection.
Always wanted a 575gt.
At least it is a very small space they waste!!

here's the next pile since my wife's letting me at the computer. There's two repeat chassis with the 350Z's and the Supra/575GTC...the Calsonic and GZox run on the same mod AD band mr02 and the Supra is for when I worry my loaner car is going to get beat up(so i switch off the 575GTC and use the Supra).

So in total that makes 9 mr02's, 1 mr015 (Ferrari 430GT), one MRCG and two F1's...I loan my stock(sort of mod) cars out to some visitors to our club races to get the feel for racing and then they usually get hooked and buy some for themselves. It's like I'm getting them hooked....

I have one more chassis to finish building...it'll be a 98mm midmount mr02 with a Ferrari 360GTC body dremelled out to fit the wheelbase of the chassis (360 is normally 94mm)

My latest " lets try and build up a full car from the spare parts bin" creation...

AM 3010 MR02
64 pitch gears (53/10) on PN Ti/ceramic diff
1 deg PN alloy front knuckles
PN 0.5 caster bar
Kyosho top shock and PN DDS
stock armature in a Atomic BB can
Atomic 98mm motor mount

Dremelled out a 360GTC shell to try a small body on a 98mm wheelbase...should be interesting.

stay tuned for the new build...

I decided to purchase the new MR-CG1.1 after i sold off my previous generation to a buddy of mine. I'm deciding on a servo for it and then the build will start from there.

You have no idea how much I love build efforts like this.:bigwink:

An unused sticker sheet?! :p

I can't quite place it so I must ask.. what servo is that?

Awesome setup. Hope it performs well on the track. ;)

Cheers,
Kyle.

It's a HiTec HS45HB...same rating as an HS55 but with a tiny bit lower and wider profile. I wanted to try a lower front end on this car because my last mrcg 's servo made the tierod sit every high on the knuckle pivot arm.

A good friend of mine has a light booth for macro shots so I'll be getting some shots from him.;)

I'll get around to placing some stickers soon donzi.

How do the Ferrari TEST Car and the GTC 575 stack up compared to the JGTC wide cars? I am interested in getting a MR-02RM Ferrari car of some sort for my next Mini Z project.

I mean stack like good aero to them and wide at the wheels?

What wheels are those? Those seem to be getting quite popular...my deep dish ATMs must be going out of style haha.

Hey Red!

Those wheels are PN Racing's machined delrin 21mm rims. i find them a bit more round than my ATM's and tires fit really snug when glueing them.

As for BMW's I have an older autoscale tossed into the back shelf area that belongs to my buddy John. He bought one of my NSX bodies off me for racing so it's just sitting there.

I have some neat plans for it, though...maybe eventually once I get some other random projects rolling out my head and onto my work table.

Mmmm....21mm delrin you say...any issues with body fitment?

And the bodies look super sexy btw...how many MRCGs is that now? ;)

Well, I've had every variation as the design has progressed but I actually only have one that runs and I sold my previous track car to another GSR member so he could have another stock pancar chassis.

As for the rims they function real well with not much clearance issues. It seems like most of the bodies I've tried it with have fairly large wheel wells.

stay tuned for the GT1 LeMans racer body that's going with this mrcg chassis...the guys I race (if you can call it that) like to stay with GT class racing and don't really dig LMP/Pan Car variants.

MRCG/GT1 class racer.:bigwink:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a258/CowboySiR/Mr-CG-MM024.jpg

I had to grind off the gigantic front splitter because they tend to get caught in the RCP walls and spin the car at the slightest rub.

I'll post times for this bad boy as long as it's running well...it may be set too soft but we'll see.

Paired down my collection for a couple weeks....

I've got a new MR03 and sold an MR02 and have a couple more cars probably leaving the fleet when a couple buddies get more into Z racing with me.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a258/CowboySiR/002.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a258/CowboySiR/001.jpg

for $170 (the price of a chassis set) I got a modified board (2x2 8858fet) a PN 94-98mount, RR frp 96mm T-Plate, a QTec superlight diff, RR bearings and alloy knuckles with RR MR03 kingpins.

All in all this beast is super light.:bigwink:

The PanCar body is one I've had laying about for a while and it came with a white Pancar as well.

I'll get to try it this weekend but floor test shows it changes directions super quick....probably too fast for me .

BTW, anyone whos planning on making an ASF swap in the future for mini-z's or xmods be sure to buy the RA-22 board and not the RA-18. RA-18 is the v1 board with the reverse lag and the MR03 board (RA-22) is quick into reverse...wicked switch.

looks really good! how do you like that front end setup vs. the stock?

cowboysir03
07-09-2010, 11:23 PM
To be honest, I haven't had any experience with either. I get the idea behind the reflex racing modification and from their vast mini z racing knowledge I trust and value their knowledge and capabilities.

Once I get a handle on driving this bad boy I may look into their front end design that can set a caster and camber angle. A guy I know in Vancouver helped design it and I know he's an excellent racer and first rate creationist. Ron has got mad skills.....
