All and any discussion about the May '09 COTM must be held here. Keep it nice, keep it fair and keep it fun. If you can't play nice, don't play.

Cheers,
Kyle.

Your Entry:
1. Your entry must be a fully functioning Xmods RC car owned by yourself. You may not enter for friends and you may not enter anything you have previously sold or plan on selling within the month the COTM is running.

2. Your submission post must be made before Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 9:00PM EST SHARP. Any late submissions will not be allowed within the competition. No exceptions.

Is there a set ride height for it to be considered a "low-rider?" If I finish my project in time to enter it, its a model body and it sits about 3/4mm off the ground. Would that be low enough?

Edit: Disregard that question. I was able to rework my chassis and now it sits a lot lower.

its gotta scrape the ground i think that that should be the requirements

Any lower and this sucker will.

I'm quite excited. This is the first CoTM comp that I will entering! I may have a good shot too, Ive spent a lot of work on my entry.

Do remember that any entry into the Car of the Month must be a fully functioning XMOD.;)

My entry is fully functional. Forward, backward, left and right. Its 100% shelf queen though, the first imperfection in the driving surface would destroy it. The body is so close to the ground that any amount of suspension travel would dig it into the ground. Also in order to save space, the circuit board is mounted on the underside of the chassis. You'll see once I get around to doing the photo-shoot for the entry.

Yeah, Ive messed around and gotten my Xmods that low, but driving them like that is impossible... lol.

Anyway, is anyone else going to enter, or are we all saving it for the last possible moment?

As long as it is functional, then everything is good. I just wanted people to keep it in mind, that is all.

Holy crap.
I completely forgot.
I still have until tomorrow night to finish, but that won't happen.
I'll throw mine in for ****s and giggles.
It's fully functional. The body is painted, the hood is not.
This will be funny...
I'll get it in tomorrow.

@123Vette:
When I saw yours, I thought it looked great, but then I saw the front clip sticking out.... Kinda kills it.

Unless someone else slips in at the last minute with some outrageous entry, I am pretty sure I can say Alvin has this one in the bag.

I think my entry will be able to knock Alvin down, hopefully. As long as someone else doesnt come along and stick another last minute entry in.

It was actually an idea I had for a different project that ended up getting scrapped. The board was going to be in the engine compartment at first, but then I realized that it pushed the front end up too high and I wanted to have a motor in it, and I also wanted an interior, so the only other place I could think of was under the car. The motor cradle is on backwards so that the motor itself doesn't interfere with the back of the interior. I basically designed the chassis around the interior.

well it worked, this might be the first car ive seen that the chassis was designed around the interior, normally its the other way around

i knew it wouldn't be... the rules made it too hard..

Explain, please. I'd like to know why you think this way so that in the future we may be able to bypass that problem.

To be quite honest, I thought the rules were quite laxed. The only real rules were that it had to be lowered (simple), it had to be custom (simple) and it had to be submitted on time (some of you have a REAL hard time with this ).

Cheers,
Kyle.
