Can I put a stage 2 Evo Xmod motor into my Mini-Z MA-010 without causing any problems? Would it be much of an upgrade over the stock Mini-Z motor?

Take the motor wires off of your stock mini-z motor and solder them onto your stage 2 xmod motor and then it will work without an issue.

It is significantly faster than a stock mini-z motor. The stock mini-z motor is approximately the same as a stock xmod.

wrong bro mini-z motors are alot more powerful

on but a rs stage 2 xmods motor is faster than a stock z motor

Remove S2 Armature. Remove Stock Mini-Z Armature. Swap. GG

I know how to set it up, I was just wondering if it was worth doing.

I just did it and notice it is a bit faster

if it's a bit faster then you did it right.
rs stage 2 arms are wrapped at 54 turns of 32-34 gauge magnet wire.
if you feel up to it, you can probably take the armature out and rewind it to 47 turns. 47 is faster, and if you're careful with how you wrap the wires around, then it'll have a more consistent magnetic feild, allowing the motor to have more torque as well as speed. although ultimately, you can attempt to get a regular pyramid style pattern wind going on the arm (it's the best way to wind an arm, but the thing is that it's really tedius and hard to do. and i recommend stopping at each comm tab because the wire digs into your fingers soo bad)

You think? I've got a tamiya speed checker. I'm willing to test a stock xmod motor and a stock mini-z motor in my car to see which has a higher top speed. You think I'll see a big difference?

I can't beleive this result!

Hfay motor- 13 km/h
xmod motor - 12 km/h
mini-z motor 18 km/h

No joke! Why am I running an Hfay motor for stock class HFAY events? I guess you were right though I would work on your people skills lol.

I was so surprised by this result, I tried the same series in my actual HFAY R/C car,

Hfay motor- 21 km/h
xmod motor - 19 km/h
mini-z motor 27 km/h

Biggest difference here is gearing and full bearing set. Though I also tested my atomic standard motor and it came out also 27km/h. So. the whole story is not being told here. I don't know how fast it can get to these numbers or if they are even possible given an amount of resistance. I know my atomic standard motor is much faster on the track than any stock motor. Its obvious that I'm going to have to track test these motors.

Do you have a stage 2 evo xmod motor you can test? I don't know how fast they are clocked at

suprising results but dont forget the speed checker bears no mark on how a motor performs under race conditions

Agreed:)

I will see if I have one. A lot of my old Xmod stuff is at my parents house.

A more thorough testing on my speed checker.
Batteries recharged before each motor.

Atomic standard- 31Km/H
10 meter- 1.46s, 20 meter- 2.75s, 30 meter-3.96s, 40 meter- 5.12s

Xmod stock - 20Km/H
10 meter- 1.96s, 20 meter- 3.78s, 30 meter- 5.46s, 40 meter- 7.5s

Mini-Z stock - 30Km/H
10 meter- 1.59s, 20 meter- 2.75s, 30 meter- 3.96s, 40 meter- 5.28s

HFAY stock - 24Km/H
10 meter- 1.84s, 20 meter- 3.21s, 30 meter- 5.00s, 40 meter- 6.37s

I will add stage 2 Xmod motor when I get back to my parents house, probably tomorrow.

HFay=? I think the Z has stronger magnets and better can, so swap the arm out.

Hfay- mini-z racing online point series. It stands for How Fast Are You?
