i picked up my first awd Z yesterday from one of the members in my miniZ club.

sorry for the low quality pic, my g/f has the camera i'll get better pics when she gets home later.
it's pretty much stock right now accept for 2x2 fet stack but, i already have the first round of hop-ups ready to install.

the knuckles are red as you can see so, i'll strip those for silver, maybe motor heat sink as well.
i'll be getting the atomic sas pro and a more race worthy body and rims next.:nod:

Very nice Skyline. I'm hoping to get me a Mini-Z here eventually. I wouldn't mind an R34 like yours, but I really like the new MA-010 Pearl White Skyline GT-R R35 that is out. How much did you spend to get the R34? Just curious at the price. The R35 goes for around $250 after shipping on ebay right now

Those are really hard to find. Especially in mint shape if their used.

Have had several of those, and just got rid of my last one and it was in super shape!

If you want a S.A.S I have one that I dont use at all, and dont want it anymore. It would need its droop screws though. Other then that its in great shape.

Looks almost like my unpainted, detailed R. I'd get orange PN driveshafts all around and either locked(drifting) or ball(racing) diffs. Decide what you want to do with the car and upgrade accordingly. Heed this- AWD will be 2x as time consuming and possibly $ consuming than RWD if you choose to race it. Drifting, besides more simple and cheap, is much more fun with this level of control IMO.

i paid $90 for it with no tx.
i have a 3racing ball diff in front right now, i have some atomic drive shaft holders on the way. i'm not into drifting, this will be strictly for racing rcp tracks.
i wish it was as cheap to set up this thing as it was for my mr-02 but, i won't go too crazy spending too much at once on it.i'll probably replace things as they break.
i got the good camera from my g/f but the batts are dead but i got a few more pics of the body.

Your running a 2x2 stack and what kind of motor, the stock one? I wonder how that is, the performance wise?

My awd is mild. I have the ceramics, ti swingshafts and atomic diff f/r and the thing is plenty fast with the 19 27 set-up.

Whats your favorite gearing?

it has a stock motor in it now and i'll be running a pn70t stock motor in it.
i'm not sure about the gearing yet, i haven't really run it because of the lack of the shaft holder. hopefully my aluminum one will come in in the next few days.
i might run a "hotter" motor for practice at home but, i have to use the pn70t
for club racing.

Here's a MUST I'm sure you already know- tire tape. Also, try FWD setup for kicks sometime. If I had a Vitz or a Golf body, I would be all over promoting FWD.

fwd sounds fun but i would think it might under steer a bit, i don't know.
i just ordered a set aluminum pinions and motor mounts for it, so that's one more thing down.(i need to stop soon)
i'm thinking about getting a corvette c5-R body for it next for racing and i'll shelf the skyline. maybe put it on a dummy chassis for show.

well, the skyline looked nice but the narrow offset and high c.o.g. made it a little too unfriendly on the track for me. so, i went with more of a race body.

i kept the paint simple so it's easier to touch up after racing.
the bright yellow is easy to see on the dark gray rcp track.
i know the dish rims aren't the prettiest rims but, i use them for racing.
i've broken a few prettier rims on the track and the dish ones are very durable. i'll get some pretty rims for show.

the atomic dual spoked rims are the worst rims. they break easier than anything else out there.
in fact, i like the dish rims. much more so than the others because the dish rims make it really look like it's a serious racer

thanks, i was considering a couple of black stripes since i race a evo bumble-bee in my club's Zmod class. since my mr-02 is also this color yellow,
i was thinking of making it the same as well.
it already looks like my cars are on the same team!:lol:

the rims on the nsx are very fragile so i only use them for practice.

Let me add another 2 cents regarding bodies- Zs allow a great depth of tuning, so never feel pressed to use a "better" body over your favorite. I'm trying to tune both of my chassis to work with bodies I like vs just slapping McLarens on and calling it a day.

i think i'm just about done upgrading this thing until i decide to finally go 2.4ghz.
i already have.....
2deg aluminum knuckles
alloy motor cover with plastic scoop
full set of aluminum pinions
full set of aluminum motor mounts
atomic aluminum shaft holder
aluminum cvd set
3racing ball diff in front
atomic ball diff in the rear
full ball bearings of coarse
2 sas rear on the way(one is the pro set)
and also an atomic lightweight titanium hollow drive shaft also on the way.
not to mention, i already have a selection of tires and plenty of "race batteries" this thing should keep up with the other cars now.
i'll post pics of the chassis when the final parts arrive and i install them.

Any difference between sas and sas pro?

the regular sas comes with 0deg knuckles and arms.
the sas pro comes with 1-3deg toe in carriers and camber arms.
the sas pro also has;
* CNC-Machined differential case
* Machined SSG graphite wheelbase adaptor support 94mm (98mm optional)
* Aluminum shock tower with new shock angle position.

here is the atomic SAS pro rear end, i have some aluminum adjustable shocks on the way.
i still have a titanium hollow lightweight drive shaft to install too.

update: i got the aluminum shocks and titanium drive shaft installed.

sas pro is a little heavy, but not much.i also have the non-aluminum sas in case weight becomes an issue. plus it's nice to have another rear end set up different for quick changes at the track.l

yes, it was. i fixed that and cleaned the grease from the shocks, and it works a little better. i also found out that i had the wrong crown gear in my 3racing rear diff. the atomic diff in front had a larger crown gear than the 3racing diff had. i was wondering why the 3racing diff came with extra gears.
needless to say, having your front wheels spin faster than the rear ones isn't good at all.
after fixing the problems due to my hasty assembley, and a bit of minor adjustments, the car handled decent. i still got my but kicked pretty hard at the track, although in my defence, i hadn't raced in about 3 months due to my surgery.
