Ok so I have this off-road '51 Chevy and I have a Q about the paint job. I put some pics up so you guys can look and give suggestions. Yes it is also in the gallery. I only use black magic marker to make it black, but your in put would be great thanx :D
looks pretty good in the pictures. but then again those are really low quality pictures and show no detail.

Next time use a can of spray paint rather than a marker. Marker's tend to show strokes, same as a regular brush, and doesn't leave as high quality of a paint job. Although the black does look good on at '51 and it doesn't look too bad for a marker job, you may want to look into a can of spray paint for your next paint job. ;)
Cheers,
Kyle.

Also, on most surfaces majic markers tend to be kinda purpley or blueish

Thanx. Do you guys think I could paint over the marker job?

It'd probably be best to sand down to the original paint. This will give the paint a rougher surface to adhere to since marker tends to be fairly slick.

That's definitely true, but what grain of sandpaper would be best?

personally i use 2000 grit sandpaper...that would probably be the best although others have different ideas...but seeing that it was done with a permanent marker and really fine sand paper would do....but the truck doesn't look bad and i agree with donzii about the spray can next time...
