Your post is 100%. You have more than four pictures, but no more than seven, and one of your pictures includes a chassis shot. Plus, you even included a list of upgrades/details as per mentioned in the Rules. Welcome to the Competition and good luck!

with the way its worded, to my under standing it doesnt includes 80's cars. it includes up TO 1980. so nothing 1981 or newer qualifys. So my guess would be no.

which part of the car has to remain xmods for it to be an xmods? i see alot of custom chassis' and alot of board swaps and even more model bodies. so what exactly classifies it as an xmods???

Haha, good question. I've seen some custom cars on this forum that seem to have not much stock left other than the steering box. I think what it comes down to is that you have to be able to tell that your platform (chassis/ project donor) is constructed mostly of Xmod-specific parts (either stock or upgrades).

Someone can add to that if I'm off base here...

Hey, I thought I posted here??? Oh well. Hey Donzii, can you make a thread for like suggestions for future competitions? I got a couple idea's that will mean big for the winners. Good prizes too.

Edit: Come on no El Camino, thats real stupid. Can you lift a El Camino, can you go major muddin' with an El Camino, can you throw some large super swampers on an El Camino, no, so it shouldnt be considered a truck, it should be considered a car. I had a old friend at my secondary school that had a 69 El Camino, it/still is the CAR of his life.

I was going to enter the Mustang Boss, but I dont know, it might be for sale, along with mostly everything else.

even thou i agree it is a car. and is built off a car plate form. Legally it is registered as a truck.

you can do a chassis swap on an elcamino and throw some 44's on it and have a mud beast. had one around here. and they classify as a truck, i had a ranchero and had to tag it as a truck which sucks.

i have no idea. its quite ugly.

ive been all over ebay and google for hours and HOURS.

the model i want is rare and retired and sells for about 160-200 bucks!!

I found a couple resin body shells for 60 bucks but i dont think they include glass or any of the other detailed parts of the car.

and then i found diecast for 10 bucks! but i dont want metal. But ive found a few that im bidding on right now. they might need one chassis spacer, but they are plastic and very detailed. the only problem is they are pre-built. so ill have to carefully take them apart. but for 20ish bucks. (im guessing thats what i can get one for) im going to give it a shot ;)

He's that type he thinks he knows everything, he always has to have his hands into everything, and always thinks his **** is gold. He is always claiming he has atleast 350hp at the wheels and thats why he has gone threw 3 transmissions. He doesnt understand launch control on a stock transmission is whats breaking his car..

Is a 1993 Mustang a car that was manufactured before 1980? That should answer your question.

i assume custom chassis do not count as fully functioning xmod chassis, correct?

sorry if this is considered as spam for having a very obvious answer, but i'm checking just in case....

Custom chassis' are allowed as long as they are based off an Xmod platform and use mostly Xmods parts. Chassis' such as the MRCG, however, are not allowed since they are based off of a MiniZ.

which part of the car has to remain xmods for it to be an xmods? i see alot of custom chassis' and alot of board swaps and even more model bodies. so what exactly classifies it as an xmods???

When it uses mostly Xmods parts then it's considered an Xmod.

Hey, I thought I posted here??? Oh well. Hey Donzii, can you make a thread for like suggestions for future competitions? I got a couple idea's that will mean big for the winners. Good prizes too.

All Competitions are thought of by the Moderating Staff. If you have a suggestion, you may mention it to me via Private Message and then the Staff will then review it. Chances are, we already have your suggestion (or at least something near it in a broader sense).

You all must remember that all of these submissions are subject to Xmodsource Moderating Staff approval. If we feel your submission does not comply with the Rules set in place, then it will not be allowed into the competition. This is an Xmodsource Competition, if it's mostly based around and Xmod and it falls under the category set for that months competition, then you're probably set. Just follow the rest of the Rules and you should be fine.

Also, if you're not me or one of the other Xmodsource Staff, do not answer questions posted in this thread unless you can directly quote them from either me or the rules. All you'll do is confuse people.

Cheers,
Kyle.

It has a full sized bed, it could tow and haul, it was advertised as a truck from Chevy. You can lift an El Camino, you can toss some big tires on it too. But should that be what defines what is a truck? Hell, I can lift a Maxima and toss big tires on it too, is it a truck now?

i agree... you can lift anything.. the el camino was a muscle car... and a nice one at that too.. and it could also be a truck... cause there are lowered trucks.. but what is the definition of a muscle car? well in my book it is a car with a powerful engine, fast, lower to the ground than a truck, and looks like a car... an el camino looks like a car, is low to the ground and fast...

No its not a zip zap. And its about the exact same size as an xmod. its about 7" long. xmods are about 6.5" long.

Its a model body that if i bought it brand new un opened would cost me about 200 bucks. they are very old and hard to come by. This was a store promo so it is pre built, which killed the value. so i picked it up for 42 bucks.

Ill be making it a replica of the vega i was racing in the vid.

You need to use my meathod for painting. I painted like 4 cars so far this winter in the 0-30 degree snowing weather.

Take a normal sized pop can, or spray paint can. Your body should set snuggly over it. Keep it inside so everything is warm. Grab your paint in one hand and your car in the other. (i suggest wearing gloves so you dont get paint on your hands) Step out side your door, spray a quick coat, and walk back in side to let it dry.

If your painting your car right it should only take you about 10 seconds to lay a thin coat of paint. So the cold will not affect it at all since you should only be out side for about 10 seconds max.

when it comes to pieces. Tape them onto a box. And do the same method.
You'll have no problems.

A Vega and a Monza.....wow, I've only seen one of each in person. Both cool cars, and pretty rare these days (compared to other models). The Vega has got to be one of the absolutely few cars out there that can be thought of as a muscle car, even though it never had a factory V8 in it. A lot people stuff V8's in them (hence their acceptance to some as a "muscle car"), but all they ever had from the factory was one of 3 different 4-cyl.'s. Same H-platform as the Monza, though (which had the V8 option).

Do you guys have project threads going up for those?

what was the prize for this comp anyway. Also I posted in the donate cotm prizes thread and haven't heard anything back. I was gonna donate a lith pack for Feb or Mar. I guess no one wants it.

All donators are to contact me via Private Message. That's the fastest, quickest and simplist way of getting donations settled. If you would like to make a donation, please do not hesitate to contact me via Private Message. :)

Do we have a category for next month's COTM? Are we having one?

February will be Xmods Open Class. March will be Truck/SUV if anyone wants to get a head start. ;)

Cheers,
Kyle.

When does the voting thread come out. Thought it would be today. Also I thought there was a couple more members entering. hmm, oh well. There was a decent turnout.

Hey guys...voting thread was locked, so I thought I'd post it here....just wanted to say thanks to everyone who voted for the '69 Camaro! It was a fun build and I appreciate all of the votes.

woo hoo! nice win Camaro98! I loved that '69! I, in fact, have my own Camaro form that same model, and right now is on a plastic case that houses my most expensive 1/18th car, a '69 Camaro RS/SS Z/28 (one of my dream cars!)

SO yeah, nice win!
