Forums are nothing new to me but I still checked out the rules, so ya.

Anyways, I just discovered Xmods a few days ago on another forum. I've always wanted to get into some sort of RC hobby, but I was always turned off by the cost of things. Xmods seems to be the solution. I still don't know much about them, but I've been browsing this forum and others sites to pick up bits and pieces of info.

I'm thinking I'd want to get into crawling, mainly because I don't really have a place to drive the low clearance cars. My whole house is carpeted and I don't think that driving in the street would be much better. So thats that. The only concern I have right now is with the bodys for trucks. I don't really care for the Hummer or the F150; is it possible to find a body from another rc model and do some modification to make it fit?

So for the mean time, I'll probably be mostly lurking around and not saying much, but hopefully sometime soon, I'll pick up my first xmod!

They had the Titan released as well, but I don't think there is any trucks this gen. You'll have to look to sources other than the shack to get your trucks.

i don't mind the titan. i won't buy a ford and the hummer is too ugly :)

You can just find some model bodies like an S10 or something that you like and put it on the chassis. You might have to either extend the wheelbase or shorten the body as most bodies your gonna find will be 1/25th-1/26th scale which is bigger than 1/28th (xmod size) You would also need to figuire out how to mount it.

Would it be safe to say that as long as its within a close scale, any body will fit with some modding? Or could there possibly be a way for it to not fit at all?

It's fairly safe to say that. You'd probably be hard to find a body within the same scale range (1/24-1/28) that wouldn't fit. Only exception to that rule I would wide is a body that is exensivly wide; like a Lamborgini or Ferrari. But, you're looking for a truck body, so I don't see that being much of a problem. ;)

Welcome to the forum.

Cheers,
Kyle.

Thanks guys. I think I really just need to get my hands on a Xmod to get a good idea of what I'm dealing with.

You'll have much more fun with the trucks. My cars are shelf queens, my trucks actually get driven.

Welcome to the forums and good lucking getting an Xmod. Ebay or through the forums will be your best bet for a truck.

welcome. I too got an xmod for the crawling side of it. So far there isnt much done to the Hummer but it is still pretty fun in the living room. Don't worry about instructions... When I first got mine I took it all apart and put it back together and learned how it all worked. Now I can put mods on without a problem.

Welcome to our enchanted forest where the unicorns run free, the phoenixes fly without trouble, and the mermaids live peacefully in the lakes. Feel free to pick any of the beautiful marshmellow flowers you see growing around, but please do not feed them to the unicorns. They are to eat only the Lucky Charms you can see growing the meadow to the east. Also, please do not bring as weaponry to the forest, as we wish to live at peace with the unicorns, phoenixes, and mermaids.

Thank you and enjoy your stay.
