Got my MRCG chassis and I like it. Very smooth rolls smooth like the Z. I need to get a servo and a PCB before I can give it a good run. I would like to take my modding to racing circuit and Im gonna do it with the MRCG. Thanks Color0 very nice. Careful as this takes a little time and delicate hands to assemble, but not bad. I will note be aware this is compatible with atomic (or comparible) parts only, the stock MiniZ MR02 parts wont work at all. I planned on using my stock pieces from my MR02 that I upgrades to Alloy, but they wont fit as they have different dimensions then the aftermarket pieces. The front knuckle assemblys work but nothing in the rear.

I can't wait to get this car up and running and a hot body to show it off. Now I have to find a local track.

the car looks pretty good so far.
you know how to make the battery pack so it doesn't tweak the car right?

there's a tutorial either on XMF or MZR don't remember which one it was on.

Sorry, I did it again. Did the same with my Mini-Z.

Heres an update. After spending forever I got here up and running. I ordered new batteries so these are temporary. I also wanna save to get the 2.4ghz board. Everything seems good, except a small amount of servo gitter, which I will checkout tommorrow. I have a headache.

Removed the BS posts. Everyone makes mistakes, but rather than blatantly telling them in a crude way, gently acknowledge them and a Staff Member so the problem may be quickly resolved. ;)

Awesome MRCG, XXX. ;) Keep us posted on all updates!

By the way, do you plan on racing with this MRCG?

Cheers,
Kyle.

Interesting antenna mount, although I suspect that's why you have servo jitter. CF is conductive after all so you're now using the entire chassis as a grainy antenna...

Other than that, it looks great! Tell me how it drives. ;)

Could be, Ill fix that, but I think I have gitter before I put the antenna on. Any ideas?

PS- I forgot to mention. I took this Board from my MR02 which was running Liths, so this board has a 2x3 Fet stack and on/off bypass.

7.2V indeed makes the servo jittery. I've heard the effects are sometimes permanent, which if true would explain your current situation. I wouldn't worry too much about a small amount of servo jitter anyways, when you're driving it gets all damped out by the suspension/flex in your steering.

You told me about getting the antenna off the CF chassis, so I did that. Thanks to an Xmod shock. Thanks again.

lol nice antenna mount you got there.
yeah, carbon is pretty conductive. that' why i recommend sealing the edges of the carbon so your batteries don't discharge through the carbon plates

Okay I can't wait for my body to get here so Im making one to use for now.

***THE UGLY CAR***
This actually is just my trash body, I used it to make the body mounts.
And I went crazy with the sheet of green sticker from the xmods kit. LMAO.

Well I had her running but never got to go to the local track or anything because I ended up taking the PCB right back out of her for a Mini-Z. But I wanna get her up and running again, but for good.

So atomicmods finally got the rear shocks in stock, so I FINALLY got one. (The stock MR02 doesn't fit right)

Got a PN racing Pan car body.

Team orian AAA 900mah, made the pack.

Also got a new PCB for her.

* Im waiting for some C clips for the kingpins and Bearings to come in.

Well, just need to get that "C" clip for the front left kingpin (I put a small piece of shrick wrap on it for now to hold it) and to mount the PCB. Oh, also got to decal that body up.

Very nice. I'm actually looking at the Pan Car body but with black dish wheels. Accidentally tried to threadlock my steel locknuts(from RS) with loctite, ended up gluing the threads and the front bushing into the front wheel now it barely spins so ordering new knuckles, wheels, also getting bearings but what do you think of the Pan Car body(like how is it?)

Well, I finally ordered my MRCG 1.1 PN Version from Kennon.. Got a new diff, some new front knuckles, bearings and the PN Mini-z Pan Car Lexan body kit. I can't wait to get it together.. I will (for now) be just swapping the servo and PCB from the old MRCG. When I get some more $ to buy my 2.4ghz module for my KoPropo Ill get a 2.4ghz board for it. Ill probably let the old MRCG go for anyone who's interested (body and all) just send me a PM if your interested. Ill keep you posted and put some photos and video up once it is ready.

Well, that was fast... but Kennon Hobby is only and hour from my house... So everything is here. I can't wait to get her all together and running. I am pretty sure the Lexan body is going to be a big improvement as I had some troubles with the last MRCG rear end bogging down a bit in the rear with the heavier Pan Car body on it. Ill get photos up as soon as I get them.

Well, I got her all together... and, MAN.. It is better than my first.. I love the small improvements made to the new chassis. I am bringing the body to a LHS to be professionally painted by a guy I know.. Ill get videos up soon.

The PN Racing Mini-z lexan body fit nice.. I just took the body posts and combined them with some 5mm standoffs from a stilletto chassis and attached them to the rear upper deck.. PERFECT.. then a small bit of velcro in front..

you have to make yourself one of these...a way better way to run the steering...

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a258/CowboySiR/Mr-CG-MM021.jpg

The 1.1 has much better rear end traction on power...you'll be amazed at the difference.:bigwink:

Im sorry but to be honest I don't think there worth the money, I bet they handle really really well but I'd rather have all the kit like a mr02 and then by stuff to go onto of that 
Btw lexan is suppost to sprayed on the inside but you probs know that already.
I think you should airbrush the body with a tribal affect with chrome and metallic blue 

I hate to break it to you Mike but a well setup MRCG would kill a similar spec MR02...if you're into racing at a very high level then pan chassis' like MRCG have much faster qualities.:bigwink:

Blade.

Cowboy hit that right on the nail.

I personally have been trying to get into the Mini-Z but it's pointless due to the limited resources for Mini-Z's up here in my area. Plus, who would I race? No one around here to race against.

Trip. I might have to get you to make me some stuff after I finish my secret project.:bigwink: Your work is truely amazing, lots of practice? Everytime I see something new come out of your garage it seems to beat the last.

Keep it up eh?

Im not sure what that new member was thinking (no hard feelings) i hope to god that i new to paint lexan from the inside...lol. Thanks guys; im sure i could have got the reat traction on my original MRCG but this 1.1 is awsome.. I am planning to setup the front steering with the horn... I need to contact Color0, he made a CF piece for that. ... Im lovin my new 1.1 as soon as i get back from Vegas im gonna set my track back up and get some quality time with her.... Also i love my MR02 but the MRCG is awsome.

its hardly much more than an MR02 and well worth every penny. Ma010 is AWD and a totally different class. Although i am a big fan of the MA010.... I have had several and have 2 right now.

I actually didn't know you painted lexan from the inside. Well I've never had a lexan body either.

The AWD is a totally different car agreed. On RCP I wouldn't expect an MA-010 to keep up with this car.

My love, however, goes out to the MR-03. Its the most amazing mini-Z in my opinion.

Years ago, the designer of the MRCG posted the entire design process over on another Xmods site. The level of engineering, thought, and design that went into the chassis far exceeds that of the Mini-z that it's based on, with numerous improvements. Lower CG, revised steering, wildly adjustable rear suspension, and less weight.

$120 is cheap.

While I agree the improvements you have mentioned are true, I don't think I agree with the comment as far as level of engineering/thought and design being greater.

The aim was different and more performance oriented, no doubt. I'm quite sure a team put in good time and effort into making each of the Mini-Z chassis. They just have less freedom since it has to meet certain material/profit/ease of use margins. Sure the MRCG is amazing but you have to order or make the battery packs and adjustments are not as easy to make in many aspects or too plentiful for the general racer to make use of. The body mounting system is not designed for the same autoscale purposes as the general Z chassis.

Well anyhow, thats how I feel about it.

When you get it, just take your fingers and manually turn the wheels back and forth. You will FEEL the smoothness. The servo is greatly improved.

That looks sweet!
I'm curious what kind of lap times that thing will turn in comparison to a MR02 or MR03.
It must be drastically lighter with that lexan body, and the batteries are lower than a MR02.
I'm sure it handles like a dream.

This is the original MRCG by color0.. He took 1st place against Mini-Zs. Here is his quote and the video...

"My MRCG (white Lexus SC430) competes against a field of MR02's and MA010's all running the PN Stock 70t motor. After getting the bump spot in the B Main I started the A Main in 5th. Thanks to the MRCG's corner speed I was able to track down and pass everyone once I got my nerves settled down. This was relatively much less exciting than the B Main as I managed to get in 1st and widen the gap pretty early on thanks to a traction roll by the yellow car previously in 1st. Then I just held on for the rest of the 8-minute main. Car felt good as ever though, and you can tell from watching the vids that my car has a noticeable advantage in the sweepers and infield."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XncYHjc6RaY

Here is his quote and video of B main.. 1st place...

"My MRCG (white Lexus SC430) competes against a field of MR02's and MA010's all running the PN Stock 70t motor. I didn't qualify very well so I started out in 3rd place in the B Main. Really exciting battle though with the red car, and I got away with 1st place (and the A Main bump) at the last second! My car was probably the most dialed in the Sportsman class, thanks in large part to this chassis."
