go to a full scale auto shop. buy primer, paint, and clearcoat spray cans. go home. mask off windows and trim. dissassemble body for best results. do light coats of primer. when you get coverage, do 2-3 more light coats. do the same for paint and clear coat. wait a while. don't test if it's dry or not, just wait about 24 hours. carefully peel off masking tape. reassemble body. enjoy.

Use "Tamiya" model spray paint, follow the instruciotns on the can. Wash the body in warm soapy water, rinse and let it air dry before painting.. simple enough!

don't go for full coverage in 1 coat. hold the can about 1 ft away.
THIN COATS. i can't stress that enough

As to how far away, read on the rattle can instruction that you'll purchase.

bondo also has a tutorial on how to spray a car. you can also dig my up "Project STi" thread. its a sorta tutorial. but basically the same as bondo's.

Primer isnt really always needed. its not as nesscesary as a good sanding. its just 1 extra layer to make your cars paint too thick. Concentrate more on a good sand job. and extremely LIGHT COATS!!

im not kidding the first coat you shouldnt even be able to hardly see. It should like the first 10 minutes of a weak snow storm. Just small flakes spread out every so often, but you can see still twice as much road as snow. Extremely light coats will get a good job.

I spray a average of 15-20 coats of paint on my jobs. and if you look at my subaru replica thread in the projects section, it has some very good pictures to show how glossy and smooth the paint turns out.

and +1 for tamiya color. Its the ONLY paint i will ever use to paint my xmods. BEST. EVER. (for a spray can anyways)

Either type in the search function "project sti", click on SPR profile and find all his threads or go into the project section of the forum.
