I was wondering if I could put a 9 volt battery in an xmod with stock fet's?
Also, what are the pros/cons of doing that? :-?

yes you can do it, but you will fry your board!!

it wud work, but its not good for ur board and you will only get about 5 mins of run time because only 1 battery

It works as long as it's only the 9 volt, but your performance will suck because the discharge rate of the alkalines suck (my now 60mph xmod did about 10 mph on a 9 volt).

**** and with 4 stock AAA's it can do like 15mph with the blue motor.

I think it'd do a little faster, since my S2 red with 4 ni-mh AAAs and oversized rear wheels (that makes it about 3 mph faster) does about 18 mph.
