I have been building since the kit got here this afternoon and I still am not done. I'll continue tomorrow. I mocked up the tires and wheels in the last pictures, but I will be using 1.9 Trail Doctors XL. Also, not many build pictures since I got carried away...

So far, $450 since I already had the electronics. With everything together it would be $600. :eyecraz:

I actually stripped my servo since this Jeep is so fast. 23T motor, with a 28T pinion, and an 87T spur = Insane speed for a truck. I crashed into a wall, thus killing the servo.

Nice Aerosynch! I was gonna say why not 2.2's but then I saw it mocked up. You going for a scaler this time or a comp class one? I'm soon getting a crawler(well maybe not) and I was thinking the ARTR Axial truck. Nice build up! You gonna put any Golden Horizons Aluminum on there? Those are some nice guys at Ghobby.

Yes, I loved the tires screeching and lifting up. Definitely a flyer.

Didn't come with a motor. But this one is kickawesome!

Went to the Post Office to get the TD XLs. One word to describe these tires: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

I got the Ultra Soft ones, and they are soft. Found my next pillow.

I need to tweak the wheelbase though. It seems to be 13". Trail Drs fit the Jeep well I think. Look like stock tires. Track width is perfect, already tucked in the body. Also need to make body mounts and lower the body, and get shorter shocks.

I went and adjusted the wheelbase, and made it longer. Just need to tweak the uppers a bit since my drive shat is now very close to just falling out of the other half. I think the TD XLs go perfect with this Jeep body. :nice:

Also took the interior out for now. In the pictures, that is the height that I am going for. Just need to cut the interior a bit to make it happen.

hey aero, i forgot to ask: is it hard to build the chassis, or just time consuming? (or neither. *crosses fingers*)
Nothing is hard. Everything is time consuming. Like, the chassis was really easy, and not very time consuming, but the axles, for example, were time consuming because of all the parts.:eyecraz:

lol your crawler has more top speed than a stock xmod.

Went to Ace Hardware today and tried to find M3 rod, but they had M4 and M5, so I did the next best thing. I cut off the M3 screw heads of some screws, and used the rods to extend my wheelbase to my desired 13" position. I did this because my previous extension using 4-40 rod was weak and bent easily. This method is way sturdier.

Went to the sandbox today and it was very fun. I love the way the Jeep handles, and you can see in the video later how the axles move up and down when going fast. Moreover, the new 4200 NiMH battery is great since it lasts forever. I ran it for 30 minutes and no signs of the battery dying unlike my old 1500.

Hey it looks good out there in the sand. The only thing holding it back is the New Bright stickers!! ;)
I have a 8.4v 4200 mah battery for my airsoft gun, and it will last weeks if I don't use it....even if I am using it a lot, it will last a good day and a half.

Went today to a new spot that had rocks/hills unlike the sandbox. I learned two things. I need foams, and then I need to glue the tires on. I also forgot my SD Card, so I couldn't take pictures with my camera (hate when that happens), so I used my phone. Sorry for the phone's image quality.

Hope you like the pictures. I got rock rash also. Shelf queen no more.
