Okay look, my garage happens to be a one car garage atm  Recently sold the mercedes and am going to try and build a collection. I think I am going to start making cars and keeping them, so I started this one 2 days ago and recently finished it. It is a really good track car, performs real nice, and isn't too fast. No body at the moment, any suggestions? Plastic chassis parts are all painted black. Used for the first time last night.

It's just meant to be able to handle well at the RCP Track that I go to. Competes in the modified xmod class.

My new Xmod gen 1 Drifter. I did services for this guy and as soon as I finished he said he would sell the car to me for $60 and I was like deal! He wanted parts for his RC-18:weird: Wierd.

Lithium 2S Pack by me, Carbon fiber chassis, AWD, Stage 1 Neo mags, locked differentials, some new rims and a nice cobra body.

nice car. may i suggest getting gpm dampers?
then it's look totally decked out.

btw try direct soldering your motor wires to the board to get better performance.
and why not use some heatshrink instead of electrical tape on your lith kit's plug wires? just my $0.02

merc3des
09-07-2008, 02:28 PM
The tape is so the wire doesn't get caught in the tire. Tape just keeps the two wires together. There is heatshrink under it. Yea I'm doing that tonight, soldered the whole thing in 10 minutes. Including the lithium pack  Had to go to my friends birthday party yesterday afternoon so right before I went to the track I soldered everything together.

nice....id rather paint the dampers. save your money...plus it can look just as good if done right

09-07-2008, 03:12 PM
ya there isnt much difference between the two is there? and ive never seen the point in alloy dampeners either besides bling, so i plus one here and say stick with the stockers

Looks nice dude! As for a body.....I'm not sure. How fast does it go?

merc3des
09-07-2008, 03:27 PM
not sure, I think I might dyno it, but it handles real nice.

UPDATE: Wtf my wheels wont turn but the motor pinion is touching the main gear. Gotta investigate. probably getting a new diff, and locking it.

Sometimes keeping a diff unlocked is better for track racing, with all of the turns and stuff, or at least it's been better with me.

XMDrifter

try to keep the gears from binding
and the alloy dampers are just more durable than the stock. it'll wear out slower.

merc3des
09-08-2008, 07:21 PM
yea i really gotta find this problem.

XMDrifter
09-08-2008, 09:40 PM
inspect the gear mesh throughout the car, and make sure they aren't too tight. then check to see if your wheels or rotating parts are catching on something.

Well I picked myself up a new xmod today. I didn't feel like making a lithium pack for it so I did a 6 cell. The first pic is where it has no motor in it or no tires, or the 6th cell  I've turned to the dark side, ahh 6 cell. And yes this time I ran outa heatshrink, so i wrap the first deans peg and then do a tape all around.

With the body

http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii44/jhoplax1695/000_0665.jpg

With the upgraded tires, 6th cell, speedy 07.

http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii44/jhoplax1695/000_0666.jpg

My take on the new evo is that it is even better. I like the idea of working harder to change something. The crystal problem is an easy fix if you can solder. Basically where the crystal port was soldered into, is where the crystal itself it soldered into, therefore flip over the board, desolder, drill the holes bigger, and solder in a new crystal  I've also noticed stiffer stock springs, and the rear knuckles closer to the car itself.

This was done last night at mm9295's house :)

Wow you got the pictures up fast. You should stack FETs on that thing and put in a good motor. Maybe try winding again

XMDrifter
10-19-2008, 01:00 PM
nice setup
think we should make a standardized setup format code kinda thing?
like you car would be coded:
65 Mustang-6-speedy07-R-3-S-Bu
*model*-*battery setup (4=stock,5=5cell, 6=6cell, lin= lithium ion, lip = lithium polymer)*-*motor*-*drivetrain (R=rwd, F=fwd, A=awd)*-*generation (1= gen1, 2=evo, 3="street")*-*tires(s=stock, ss=soft slick, st= soft tread, hs=hard slick, ht= har tread, f=foam, m(x)=aftermarket (degree))*-*bearings(Bu= bushings, Bb= ball bearing standard, sBb = sheilded ball bearing, cBb = ceramic Bb)*

mm9295

Drifter y cant u just say its a evo 65' mustang with a speedy 07 and a six cell up grade

merc3des
10-21-2008, 07:41 PM
It'd be official, and it could be like a list. I like the idea, just needs to be simplified.

merc3des

I race in actionRCspeedway, Staten Island. or my basement =p

NEW PICS:

I took a cd rack, put it in my desk, and cut out wood slips to hold my xmods!

A couple of cars and bodies are added

Before (I used cardboard):

i have something similar to that. except i used CD cases instead of wood.

merc3des
10-24-2008, 07:31 PM
Yeah I wanted the wood to be the same color, the cardboard worked, but I just have OCD. not really.

KITT222
10-24-2008, 09:24 PM
oh heck yeah, im totally OCD. if something isnt square, i FREAK. i suppose it would help in Xmodding and painting.
