In my opinion and assuming you want a race car the MA-010 is the best for beginners, its the AWD model, really easy to drive and pretty straight forwards to upgrade.

Its ashame you only just made this announcement because I just sold one of mine :) All I have left now is the pro-car but I'm hoping to get more than $200 for it....

I'll give you a lightly used MR-02 for $100, and then you have another $100 to spend on upgrades..

But what do you want to do?
Bash, Race, Drift?
Cause drifitng a MR-01/015/02 isn't easy, it's quite difficult.

Dunno about that, both are probably easy to drive. The MR-02 is RWD as opposed to AWD. Check out www.mini-zracer.com and read around there.

I find it rather impossible for an MR02 to be easier to drive than the MA010. Yes, they may be easier to tune and keep after since they're only 2WD, but the MA010 is 4WD/AWD, making it much easier to handle on different surfaces.

For a beginner I always stress the MA010 is the best bet. They're easiest to handle (especially stock) and have great potential to become great racers. I only stress to members that the MR02 is easier to dial in and easier to get faster lap times, but new comers to the MiniZ world typically aren't ready to handle an MR02 at blistering speeds.

Take the AWD upgrade off of your Xmod and try to drive like you would with AWD; you typically cannot do so very easily. Although a MiniZ does have far superior handling, it's still very difficult to handle an RWD at this scale when all you want to do is "bash." You'd get a much higher level of "fun" out of an MA010, especially when you "bash."

I drive a brushless RC18MT, a low-turn Stampede and a nitro 4WD OFNA buggy.. Nothing can compare in terms of handling to a MiniZ. Since you've driven all of those different RCs, you should know nothing handles the same and everything has its erratic quarks. Just because you've driven all the rest doesn't mean you're going to instantly master a 2WD MiniZ.

Also, a MiniZ is not meant to be a speed demon. By blistering speeds I meant fast laps times.

Trust us when we say an MA010 is the way to go for a starter in the MiniZ scene. ;)

what about the f1's?

what about the f1's?

Even harder. Very limited upgrades unless you do extensive modifications, limited changes you can do, very low to the ground, etc.. Great if you can run RCP all the time or have a lot of people that race the F1 class, otherwise they're almost nonexistant in the Z world.

i read somehwere on this site that mr-02's are the best for racing. i would rather spend 140$ but if its a way better car i might purchase it.

If speed is what your looking for and somewhat good handling i suggest the MR-02. But if you want to have lots of adjustability and tuning and handling and the cost of speed then go with the MA-010. BUT it also depends how the track is laid out, more straights MR, very curvy MA.

The MiniZ MR02 has always been more dominant in the HFAY racing series because the MR02 is the step up from the MR01 which was the first MiniZ Kyosho produced, but now a lot of the top drivers are switching over the MA010.

Once you order look at the ATOMICBUILT MR-02s. Then you can see what will make your MR-02 a beast

Just like Xmods, they are all the same speed stock (unless they come with an upgraded motor, which is unlikely when buying a stocker from an eRetailer).

Yes. The MiniZ MA010 is used heavily in the HFAY series as well as private clubs and series'. For the extra $20-$40 you'll be paying for the MA010, you'll enjoy the added handling performance.
