Need For speed Undercover

June 18, 2008 - To no one's surprise, EA is set to release the next installment in the Need for Speed franchise later this year in the form of Need for Speed: Undercover. In an interview with gamesindustry.biz, Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello said that the title is in development from one of EA Vancouver's two NFS teams. He also hinted that its inspiration comes from movies like The Transporter, though we'll have to wait and see what he means by that.

The single previous Need for Speed team was split into two last year to allow each of the two teams more time to create yearly updates for the franchise. Rather than giving one team only 12 months to create the next installment, each team would now have a full two years, with the teams trading release years, obviously. Being that the team was only split last year, the Undercover team will only have a little over 16 months to create the title, but the extra breathing room must certainly welcome in any case.

In the interview, Riccitiello also discussed his disappointment with last year's Need for Speed ProStreet, and said that the reason for splitting the team into to two was to help insure that future titles would actually be a worthy experience.

No consoles were specified for Undercover, but given the franchise's history, we'd expect to see it hit every major system.

No pictures or anything but I hope its more like Most Wanted and nothing like Carbon!

I'll stick with my NFS2 Underground for a while still....its good enough for me...maybe I can get a better one for Christmas. I got my Audi TT up to 217 mph on it today, and did some mean drifting with my Rx-7, like 525,000 points in 8 laps...i think that's good. :nod:
I only have a Ps2....they gonna make it for that? Or a Wii lol? :lol:

Siiick! If I get enough money, I can get a 360 because the price is down to $199.99 by me! Used is like $149.99! The KR is a sick mustang. It would be cool if they put a Parnelli Jones, Blackjack, or Cervini Mustang in it! Solstice is a great input. It was the car I beat most of Carbon for the PSP on(14 bosses)

Too bad the graphics in the actual game that will be released won't look nearly that good.

I don't typically like the story line of the NFS games when all is said and done; I just like joy-riding with my hundered-thousand dollar cars. Basically the only reason I get the game.

So I was watching South Park last night and all the commericals were NFSU sneak peeks,and well one of them had two Helicopters flying around some water and it looks like it could have been game footage.And if it is,well the graphics aren't that great and the game looks like it's set in partly cloudy 12:00 PM.

hahahaha, is that a joke? if you just follow the story races you could be done it in 24 hours in easy mode, i got the game on the 18 and this evening i finished the story mode

Yes! I finally got the game (DS Version) and i gotta say, it's really not that bad. soon enough, im gonna go get the pc version.

i bought it thursday night. Played it thursday night for quite a few hours. maybe an hour friday day, and then off and on for a good few hours friday night and beat it...

While it was a fun game i got to admit im pretty dissappointed to be able to beat it in 2 nights of not that much playing time... pretty lame. id take it back if i could. now i wish i just would have rented it.

because being chased by cops and getting your car destroyed isn't interesting to me.... i want to DRAG race... not go all illigal and go down the street being chased by cops
