Well I've only worked on it 15-2o minutes. Have chassis set to right length, and front quarter panels on. Like the rear end height, going to lower the front more. here she sits right now.

???/ put some more into your post. the chassis is already extended if thats what your asking. and most of the projects i've seen are mid to late 60's.

not much of an update, but an update none the less. well haven't had a lot of time to work on it, but the battery pack is gone, the wide wheels are gone, it looked ok but body sat at too much of an angle when i lowered the front. and the hood scoop is gone. don't know what will be sticking out of it, or might just go with the stock hood with no hole. well here some pics.

MUCH better. You read my mind, get rid of that hood scoop thing.. go with the stock hood or a big blower sticking through and no stupid scoop.

That looks nice lowered like it is, nice job.

go for either stock hood or have one with a blower stickin out of it. imo you should lift the rear just a hair more and get rid of the power switch

Are you gonna relocate the batteries inside the car? I was gonna do that with mine, but then I decided that doing an interior instead would look better.

It looks better without those huge rear tires, but I think you dropped it too low here, maybe a millimeter or two higher, and the ride height will be perfect! What are you planning with the hood?

xmodkidd33
07-24-2008, 02:07 PM
I think the rear should be higher, the front is perfect, though. :thumleft:

ok so its been a busy day today with this and the supra.
got the seats painted and front and rear windows put on, bumpers etc. went to put the side windows put on and they don't fit it:shock: the windows are pretty much straight up and down on the body, but the windows in the kit are curved extremely. | body ) windows in kit. its weird, i dunno:confused2:
so if i put them on it will look bad and have big gaps so they are staying off. put some super-flex wires to the motor, soldered directly to the board. got the front mount close to finished, ride height anyway. got to get some more styrene to finish up the front and rear mounts. turned out decent so far. now on the rims I'm liking how the black barricade rims look, but kinda like the look of the rear rims too. the tires are whats going to be on the rims. suggestions on the rims?
ok heres the pics

can a mod change the title of this to Project: Drag Nova SS

well it has been a while since i have updated this. but i have not forgot it. its got some dust on it that i need to clean off, but after the mini z ticked me off by not working, i figured i would put it to use until i can get another board. so i know that there has been a conversion on a gen 1, but i figured i would do an evo. and the way its set up makes it perfect for this car. the length is longer than a stock setup so you have to use a longer car. and the wheel base matched perfectly and gave it the angle i have been looking for in this car. well enough talk here's some pics

zippo855
12-28-2008, 01:58 PM
thanks for the comments,
as for the mini z parts, i picked up that mr-01 and the board is toast, so until i get another board i wanted to put it to use.

i broke the rear h plate last night testing it. i'm thinking the motor has too much torque. i had the green readline and it was the one i put neos in. so until i get some new h plates, i made a styrene plate for it. it handles pretty good also, i'll get some videos up later.

lol, thanks man

here's some videos of it in action. i need to get a little bigger pinion and a faster motor. still she is smooth sounding when running. no diff grinding.
and i have no clue what the 2 in the back ground are discussing. my brother in law and his friend.

well i stared at this project for a while thinking of the best way to mount it, and heres what i came up with. i need to do a little reinforcing to these so they dont come off and look a little better. i am going to see if i can get some better putty tomorrow. the stuff i have cracks when it dries. no matter how thin or thick i put it. well heres some pics. i am liking the ride heigth that came outta this chassis conversion.
lets hear some comments

Looking good so far. The paint texture looks odd in the fourth picture. I'd take the polishing compound to it. The polish can really bring out the pearl of the purple, also.

Keep it up!

Very cool, I love the color. If you would have kept those big drag tires on and the rear was up in the air, that would have looked BA. But it is still hot.

yeah those are sweet, they actually came with the mr01. i found some on ebay for reference pic. but i am looking at making some for xmod rims, where they mount on the mini z is over the center hub of the rim. and orings hold them on. but the center hole is bigger than the xmods would need. so i am thinking about making them with smaller holes and a little different mounting idea.
and thanks man

yeah, if i could find some mini z treaded tires or slicks that thick i would run them, but i like the looks of how it sits with those tires. If someone knows where i can get some let me know.
