http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3/SadistikGraffix/PICT0007-1.jpg

the interior is **** near finished, the body is mounted and the underhood is about 30% done.
i still have a few tricks up my sleave that were left out for the pics;).

sorry for the crappy pics but i'm working with a cheap camera that takes worse pics then most peoples cell phones.......

UPDATE 1:

UPDATE 2:

i got a good bit more done.
the body and engine bay is laid in canary yellow and partially detailed.
the air cleaner has flames on it.;)
the chassis has been painted and the interior is in arctic white with beige/silver accents.
i added a fire extiguisher, painted the steering wheel wood grain and accented the flames.

a few more details and im good to go.
sorry for the pics......i'll have to borrow a better camera for the final pics so you guys can see all of the detail.;)

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3/SadistikGraffix/hhha.jpg

cheers,

i built/added a hood mount tach

UPDATE 3:
the chassis is painted.
i still need to build the "go baby go" parts.
the board is a 2x2 stack though so...who knows what's going to go on it.;)

i think i'm starting to get the hang of this camera.....:bigwink: still not great but a lil' better

Sweet project!! I think thats the best looking Cougar. Nice job with the interior and the motor, looks like you have all the room that you want when putting that stuff in it. The '92 Mustang that I was just working on there is hardly any room to do anything. Suppose the paint is going to be a secret then huh? Looks like it coming along Great;) :D I can't wait to see what you have in store for us:D :p :bigwink: !!!!!!

Good work my friend! Looks like a month should be more than enough time for you! :)

Nice. Great work so far, have you decided on a color/scheme for it?

thanks man!
it may look like i have room but all the pieces you see that are in it in the pics have been cut and sectioned to fit.
there is a huge size difference between a 69 cougar and a 92 mustang but you would be suprised at what you can accomplish when you think outside the box.;)
when i was building my first few models i was hesitant to even try an interior or engine bay because none of the pieces fit and i did'nt want to risk messing up the parts by cutting them.
after a few tries though, i think i finally got the hang of it.
i was fairly suprised at how much realism a top half of a motor,a couple of seats and a half a dashboard adds.

@B1G,
yeah, i think a month will be plenty for this one.
i'm truly amazed at how quickly this one's comming together.
since those pics i've added another work hour to it and the engine bay is 90% and the interior is only missing paint.
finish off the bay and a little more putty and she'll be ready for paint.

@Surg
i've got a color scheme for it.
it's going to be my first yellow car.
nothing too wild but it will be two tone and i will say that i picked up some new stencils;)

thanks guys;)

Looks great. Did you custom make the hood scoop and spoiler?

nope, everything you see(so far;)) came with the model kit.

i would'nt say anyone has won/lost until the polls are closed.
i think the last couple of comps have shown that their are no "shoe ins".

thanks man;)

Hmmm... Why did you use the front air dam as the rear spoiler?

like the wheels where did you get them

Hmmm... Why did you use the front air dam as the rear spoiler?

a few reasons actually.
i dont like front spoilers.
the spoiler that came with the kit is a 3-piece and flimsy.
the front spoiler looks alot more laid back on the rear then the kit spoiler;)
good eye though, i do'nt think anyone who does'nt have the kit would have picked up on that.

the wheels are GPM.
did'nt buy them from a vendor.

I would say from the pictures that the front scoop needs smoothed out. I figured something was up with the spoiler since there's some kind of putty/sanding done...

i had the hood scoop finished at one point.
but then i got to work on the engine bay and found out i needed a little more clearance for the air cleaner so i had to pull it back off and make a big ol' hole in the hood so the scoop needs to be re-attached and re-puttied...:nodno:

the tricky part of the rear spoiler now is going to be making it appear as if the deck lid still opens.
basically i have to make a single piece look like a three piece like on the 70's-80's camaros.

Can you get a rear shot to make it more clear what you need to do? If I understand right, you need to make creases in the spoiler to make it look like part of the deck lid. If so, I would just take an X-acto knife and make some small indented lines.

that's exactly what i have to do.
the problem lies in the fact that the deck creases fall right in the "curves" or corners of the "spoiler".
this part is a bit thicker with putty so the challenge lies in making the crease equal to what is on the shell.
if i go too deep then it messes up the putty and i have to start over.
if i dont go deep enough then it wont look right.
the hard part is scoring a true line through two different materials.
the putty is softer then the poly-styrene so one slip and it's back to square one.

Be really careful then, I guess. :D

That model looks like it's in a lot better shape than mine was. Some of the parts on mine didn't fit quite right, it was also kinda flimsy...bad paint too, it's the definition of orange peel on paint

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l273/greatmage36/Xmods/PHOT0040.jpg

I probably had it a little high too. At least it got finished this time.

i like the idea of the front chin spoiler as the deck lid spoiler...it gives it a much sportier look IMO

painting time.:bigwink:
who can pick out the new parts?;)

it's black for now but that was only to cut back on the transperancy of the plastic. since these pics, i've gotten a neutral base and the interior is in it's base(arctic white.

a few more parts to be painted, add in some details and lay out the body paint and this puppy is done;)

EDIT:
forgot the pics......

i know man.
believe me, i know my way around a camera.
this piece is 7 Mpx but my cell phone takes better pics.
ALL of the pics so far were taken with macro on.
this camera is just a POS though. it was cheap.
the last pics were taken indoors and so far it takes better pics in direct sunlight.(the matte black pics)

Looks good, it looks like a drag car to me, just needs racing stripes and a wheeilie bar to pull off that look
