you made the rear chassis piece? do you have a laser cutter or etcher? Id be interested in buying one, its the only piece of my car that isnt alloy.

xmodkidd33
06-24-2008, 07:46 PM
Yeah, I'm interested in the origins of that model kit as well. :D

I like the alloy rear chassis, was it all cut/drilled by hand or CNC'd?

XMDrifter
06-24-2008, 08:38 PM
what electronic components are those?

reaper
06-25-2008, 01:39 PM
as it was a one off the chassis (front and rear) were done by hand as it was a lot less work than setting up the machine just to do one :)
the electronics are
plasmatomic motor
2.4ghz RX
9g micro servo
and a forward only ESC

Did you just do the chassis with a Dremel? It looks like it's CNC'd you must have great skills with the cutting wheel!

stang_racer
06-25-2008, 09:31 PM
just a small tip that 2.4ghz receiver can and most likely will be disrupted by a normal cordless house phone, ive seen it happen in a nitro truck where it turned into a runaway because of the 2.4ghz

thnks man very nice of you to say so
i didnt use a dremel as that would put to much heat into it i just drilled and then shaped with a file the gave it all a **** good polish :)

@stang_racer
raely i dint know that i always herd that the 2.4ghz was so manufactured to block any sort of interference
iv not had any from any of my phones but thanks for the tip :)

I'm pretty sure that when reciever recieves (lol) interference, it hops to a different frequency...

all i know it that it some times happens with the spektrum radios, also if they go outta sight the spektrums seem to just stop lol, knowing this from doing hill climbs with my savages and seeing other people have to go get their trucks when their not stuck lol

Extremely nice chassis! That car is pro man. I love the neatness, and the cleanness. How do you keep the motor in place? Does the mount lock it in enough? Another question, how does the Micro-T board perform? Everything is excellent, that car is decked out. COTM stuff right here ;)

Constructive post right there ^. Well I like the whole idea of screwing the motor in like a mini-z. If I order one of those for my upcoming project I'll definitely do that. Where can I get some micro-t elecs? I wanna test how precise they are, and how they react to different batteries. Sexy body choice, all I know its a charger.

glad to be of help imo that is a lot better way than on a stock xmod
for the micro-t electronics try the bay there is normaly a few on there when people convert to brushless
